Ken Burns is the master of documentary features. You can watch the whole series on PBS or wait for broadcast version. Episode 2 is tonight on Channel 8!! http://www.pbs.org/kenburns/the-vietnam-war/home/
Thanks for the heads up! I didn't realize it was on everyday this week. Saw Episode 1 last night and it was good.
Hell yeah bruh. A new episode almost every day. It's awesome! This documentary is freaking intense, educational, thought to provoke, emotional. Nobody touches Ken Burns in this field.
This was the best thing on TV last night by far. I never realized how far back Ho Chi Minh's influence went before the U.S. got involved, and I thought I knew more than most Americans about Vietnam. Burns really puts the whole conflict in perspective. Dare I say, I'm am jacked to see the next one tonight!
Excellent work by Mr. Burns and his co-director Lynn Novick... 100% up to the standards set by Baseball, Jazz, The War, Unforgivable Blackness, etc...
The photography and footage are some of the best I've seen in a doc. Like for real man. I think the bluray is the longer cut than the broadcast version?
I really enjoyed the parts that I've seen of The West and the The Civil War. This should be just as good.
Will definitely watch, thanks! My favorites of his, in any order: Baseball The West The National Parks The Civil War Jazz Lewis and Clark Prohibition
Just saw the first episode, can't wait for the next episode I will definitely need to look into his other docuseries
Whoa, so there's an explicit unedited version of the series here: http://www.pbs.org/show/vietnam-war-not-edited/ Also those Buddhist monks during the protest are some Gangster ass motherfukkers. They keep it real.
Done with episode 3. This is the best piece of television ever! My god! McNamara- Vietnam Bui Diem! Those LBJ mixtape is fire, DAMN!!
