Pretty sure @ch44 mentioned that Knicks were trying to convince Melo to go to the Bucks.. if Knicks are targeting Jabari then that would make sense

 

This is like the 10th "first domino" to fall since this whole thing started. Melo is next!

 

Will Fertitta value players differently, and could a deal with the Knicks include players that we previously thought were untouchable? Who knows? What does that have to do with 500?

I see the Knicks are leaking stuff again. Morey isn't gonna give you more man, deal with it.

 

The Knicks are trying their damndest to make the no-trade clause irrelevant. Continually ignores the huge stipulation in every scenario. They agreed to put in Melo's current contract, and he is utilizing to his advantage today.

It truly is on the Knicks. For reasons outside of basketball, I believe Melo would settle for staying in New York despite their rebuilding status.

So if the Knicks are ok with continuing the media circus into the upcoming season, that's up to them. From Fisher vs. Barnes, to Phil Jackson posseing up, to waiting the endless wait to see Phil Jackson's method to his madness ... the Knicks will continue with the circus.

Morey is playing hardball because the Knicks have no leverage, even though the Knicks reportedly act as if they do (letting teams know what they want for Melo despite their market only being one team).

The Knicks can either begin the season focusing on the youth movement and potential, or they can have all the focus go to the drama of Melo still in the Knick locker room.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Bucks were after Melo.
But they wouldn't trade Jabari just for sweetener for dumping contract.
Anyway now it's futile. They used the stretch provision and they have no need to shed money anymore.

A lot of what you said may be true. But I still don't think under these circumstances the Knicks would fold into accepting a deal that puts their salary cap in a worst position (in other words taking back Ryno's contract or another that goes beyond two years for a player they are not interested in i.e. Myers Leonard).
This is why I think so many people reported a couple months ago that this deal was pretty much done; I'm sure the Knicks were willing to trade but they just won't budge on taking back a bad 3 year contract. I bet if Ryno only had 2 years remaining this could have been a done deal straight up. If we had any other expirings instead of Ryno then it also would have been done.
