I can't see Morey including Capela in the deal for Melo. Capela is developing very well for us. He is part of the future of this team. They get Anderson and some NGs to clear cap space, that's it!

What if the hold up is that no team will take Anderson without attaching some talent to the deal? Maybe we will have to throw in some talent to make the deal work. Obviously morey will want something back more than just melo but if that someone is a decent older vet who can still contribute he may have to give up on capellas upside. Someone like say Tyson Chandler for example.

Not saying I would do it just that morey may have to if he wants someone to take Anderson's big contract.

Only way you include Capela in a deal for Melo is if there is a guarantee that LeBron is come here next year.

Else just switching Capela for Melo doesn't make us that much better if any.

Seriously? People are actually debating this?

If there was a threat of Melo getting traded somewhere else then maybe...maybe you trade Capela for him. But I personally still wouldn't. Capela + Ryno (and I'm not a big fan of Ryno) is better than Melo + ....whoever

But with Mall's no trade cause and with him reportedly asking for Houston then no. You do not trade Capela. No way. Not at all. Why are we even talking about this?

Are you guys forgetting that there needs to be a third and maybe fourth team involved? What team is going to take Anderson's contract and give up young talent and expiring contracts because they want Anderson so bad? We're going to have to sweeten the pot. This dream of some team taking on Anderson just to help is out is silly. Either cappella or EG and or some combination of picks are going to have to be added to make this happen.

We are only hardcapped for this year.

Next year, we return to the rules of the soft cap, as long as we don't use a Full Non-Taxpayer MLE or do a SnT. Those two things are what hard-cap you. Otherwise,,,yeah, you can always go as high as you want in salary by using Bird Exceptions....meaning Capela.

On the subject of Capela, it's a non discussion, I think it's the logical ideal to believe he's the least expendable between Ariza & Gordon. Gordon because he's a product of our system (& injury history) & Ariza because of the more recent signings.

Morey will not give up Clint. I think we all learned what happened when we gave up too much to get a guy like Barkley. Melo wants Houston and the world knows this. I just don't understand why a team like the Suns wouldn't want Ryan Anderson. Doesn't Bledsoe want out of Phoenix anyways?

Capela is not going anywhere, Chris Paul mentioned in his PC how he is excited to play with him.

Sounds like of the valuable players we have left, the odd one out is Gordon since Capela/Ariza have been working out with Paul and Harden.

I'm a little anxious if we can't use a future 1st to sweeten the Anderson dump.

All this Melo talk is great and all, but it still doesn't change the fact that GS will still be a better team.

    Who's stopping Durant/Curry?

I didn't even mention the other all stars they have in Thompson/Draymond.

Oh yeah and the bench Iggy/Livingston/West/SwaggyP

    That's just not fair man!

This notion that NY is going to drag this out for months and threaten to bring Melo back next yr bc their leverage is gone and their return is poor on a Melo trade just shows how deeply and tragically dysfunctional the Knicks are.

CP3 is arguably the best point guard defender in the league. We loaded up on guys like Tucker and Luc Mbah a Moute to have defensive stoppers. Did you see way Luc shut down Hayward in the Utah series? Between those two and Ariza, we have a lot of different options to throw at Durant and Klay. Draymond doesn't need any special treatment here. The other 4 guys you mentioned are not primary options.

Houston is pretty well set up to give GSW a run for their money. I don't think they are there yet but they have closed the gap substantially in just a month's time.

If we didn't find a taker for Anderson before we aren't finding one now. Nothing has really changed other than the management change. There's only 28 other teams in the league, no one wants to take Anderson and give ny what they want.

Either we cave in and give capella Ariza or Gordon or they cave in and take whatever junk the third team gives them for swallowing rynos contract. This won't end soon
