All the Cavs have to give up is Love and Shumpert if they want a chance to get Melo besides us?

Hmm, so NY is leaking that they want more. I'm sure Morey will continue to give them the finger. Melo is willing to go to two places and neither team has young assets to trade. Even we can see that.

    Good effort though.

    No.

No, because Cleveland isn't looking to deal Love for Melo. They want Melo on a buyout to add to their current squad.
No, because NY wants to go 25 & under....supposedly.
No, because NY isn't taking back Iman Shumpert or J.R. Smith. (Well, never put anything past the Knicks.)

Why would Griffin, you orchestrated a team to Finals multiple years, and was let go by said team, make a trade to help that team?

If this is the price to dump a 2yr/$30 million dollar deal for a serviceable Forward, then Rockets won't be able to trade that bum Anderson.

    For Demare Caroll.

it doesn't matter if Griffin is Jerry West smart....he doesn't have much leverage. Melo has the NTC and the knicks can't afford to bring him back after all this....they need to build for the future. This is a done deal, only concern is that it drags out into next week and we cave for Joe Chee and 2020 pick along with anderson (that's if Joe chee is allowed to be trade bc of him signing his contract.

If there's truth to this what do you think the holdup is? I mean if players have been told he's coming you'd think it's a done deal and yet we've heard nothing official. Any thoughts?

Every time I see "Joe Chee" I think how cool it is to have a Navajo policeman on the team. Then I remember.

    (Thanks Tony Hillerman.)

    of course it matters.
He has the leverage to tell Melo to go sit in his house if he doesn't like it.
Build for the future is the opposite of taking back bad contracts like Leonard or overpaid untradeable role players that play the same position as their young star.

Done deal? Who says it? Potato head?

This is just conjecture from Ramona. When has she ever been accurate when reporting information about the Houston Rockets?

The DeMarre Carroll trade just made me realize how unlikely it is for us to land Carmelo and how much BS went around online today. Carroll required a first rounder and second rounder next year.
We have no 1st rounders that we can offer in a package. We have no promising rookies or 2nd year players we can offer in a package. We have no expirings we are willing to include in a package. Only thing we can part with is a bad contract for a player who's not going to improve in Ryno. Those of you that are believing we're closing in on Melo, that a Melo trade is imminent, that by Monday at the latest Melo will be a Rocket; are going to be very disappointed.

Knicks have to realize what the Clippers got for CP3, Pacers got for PG and Wolves got for Butler.

They wanna move Melo so right there leverage gone, Melo has a NTC so right there leverage gone.

Knicks want whatever they think is "in". They can't think for themselves.

I like how ESPN is trotting out Ramona Shelburne like she suddenly has all these great connections ... right after they gutted their NBA reporters.

Anything from Ramona concerning the Knicks comes straight from the Knicks ownership/front office.

This all played out with Phil Jackson as well.

I am sure Dolan does want players under 25. I also think the most likely outcome is Anthony stays in NY until he increases the number of teams he will play for.

I wouldn't be shocked if OKC offers Kanter or another contender offers some over paid but over valued player that Dolan happens to like.

the knicks are holding out, for now, but they HAVE to move him. they cant go into training camp with him with this distraction going on. also melo and hardaway Jr. hate each other. NY will continue to be a circus as long as this is going on. eventually they will give in to whatever rockets or cavs want..... the only question is who is it going to be ?

"Sure, New York. We can make that happen! Jared Uthoff, Tim Quarterman, Isaiah Taylor, Shawn Long, Isaiah Hartenstein..." [continues reading off summer league roster names.]

I have no idea. And neither does JSports. (I mean, he could be right but no details were provided)

All he said is that Melo is going to Houston. Didn't say when, for who, was/is it still a 3-team trade? Is Portland still the 3rd team? Knicks? players have supposedly been told Carmelo is going to Houston but nothing else.

"ch44" suggested there was some truth to this (3-team trade) & instead of Meyers Leonard, it was Ed Davis.

Again, I have no idea. Everyone has a source these days.

Carmelo is going to Cleveland in a 3-way with Phoenix/Cleveland/New York.
Carmelo is in Houston but is on his way to Mexico.
Carmelo is in Houston, at a 24Hr fitness.
Carmelo is in Houston, been working out (Toyota Center?)
Carmelo is in Houston, with Nene.
Carmelo trade is close to happening
Carmelo trade isn't close at all.

Does anyone really know anything? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
