Im under the impression that was a flagrant 2 foul as it was an automatic ejection due to it being "unnecessary and excessive" How was Nene's foul excessive?
It wasn't - he probably would have got a flagrant 1 had Seacaucus been involved but since it was after time expired, the local referee crew had authority to make a decision about something they rarely get to decide. I think the league will downgrade the foul and issue a "my bad" tomorrow....that is unless there is some "fouls from the neck up" exception that is an auto flagrant 2 but I don't know the rules well enough to know if that is a thing. All I know is the league had a history of kicking out D'Antoni's players when he plays the Spurs.
he didn't grab him by the throat he put his hand on his shoulders/traps and how can u eject someone for peace making.
Can't seem to see much? I could be completely wrong still isn't that convincing of a flagrant foul 2 nonetheless.
NBA better rescind that bullshit ejection on NENE. **** that soft **** out of here and Dedman is a straight up b****.
It looked like he might have grabbed his throat - also Nene may have hit the referee incidentally which may have factored into it. But Nene even reaching out and grabbing Damon on the shoulder could be considered excessive and unnecessary. He's a vet, he should know better. All these players should be smarter than that.
Nene put his right hand on on Dedmon's shoulder, not neck, and this was done to prevent Harden and Dedmon from getting entangled. There are clips that show exactly that very clearly. Just look at the clips that are already posted. Once the league looks at the videos, it will be a non-issue. ...and I am sure the Rockets brass will forward their side of the events to the league.
It's ESPN. It's what they do. I'd rather focus on the "Inside the Spurs' success" headline hilariously adorning that screenshot.
