Another random fan, yes? It's beyond me why we would need a 5th guard. Or I guess 6th, after signing Isaiah.
There are to many charlatans playing the insider card.Codeman, batmanjones and Cyber are only trusted ones that I can think of.
Looks like Calderon is back on the market. I wonder if our interest has changed with only one spot available right now (obviously we could cut Brown to create another spot). Casspi is by far our best option right now...the most likely to contribute to our rotation assuming he's healthy.
It's our secret plan in the media to shoot 75% threes. We gonna roll with Calderon, Lou, E.G., Harden and Anderson against the warriors and hope we beat them 175 to 174.
I'm sorry, Isaiah doesn't count. I'd be surprised if he ever suits up unless he pulls a Montrez. Calderon and Sanders, come on down.
The deadline for players to be eligible for playoff minutes is March 1. Meaning that the players must be cut by March 1, not signed by March 1
Calderon is coming... but i don't know about Sanders 1. You can keep him deep as the 15th man and only use in situationally. But 2. I feel like he lacks the motivation to win a championship. Whos to say he gives up on the team. 3. I think morey is gonna get a Big from China.
http://www.asia-basket.com/China/stats.asp Bigmen fromt china could include Hadaddi JJ Hickson Jason Thompson Probably our best rebounding options
Calderon is Ricky Rubio without the defense but with the superior shooting. Either way _holic will get a boner
Hickson and Thompson used to rebound well out in Sacramento a few years back. They both had good stats for a couple of years in the NBA when they were younger. I wonder....
Ugh this buyout market so far is looking pretty crap tastic. So today is the deadline for players to get waived. We will see what else happens but looks like the Rockets will probably just be signing D-Leaguers for training camp next year. Whose left though - Jared Sullinger? Anyone else I can't think of that fits. Don't say something stupid like Josh Smith please. I've got an idea though how to use the remainder of their cap space AND get a head start on a player for the Summer- Maybe this is a good time to sign Gentile and get a chance to work with him this Summer? 6'7" wing averaging 19 PPG. 3 point shooting sucks, but maybe he can play some D if needed. Again this would be a move for the Summer, but theres very little difference I see in him and the KJ McDaniels insurance body. Except Gentile actually might be a better defender in the NBA even without the athleticism. They will likely have to sign him to a multi year deal though which the Rockets might not want to do with their free agent plans. But its an idea if they think he can provide some depth at the needed 3 spot.
Which is it... We're not actually interested in this craptastic pool of FA's or this craptastic pool of FA's isn't interested in us?
Maybe a Papa type deal for Gentile....give him the $3 million up front, but non-guaranteed on the 2nd and 3rd years. That would give us another trade piece for the draft/free agency. Again, assuming he's healed by the end of March, I'd take a strong look at Casspi. Might even try to get him on a 2 year deal. Still like JP Tokoto. Would love to waive Brown and get him on a deal similar to Taylor. At this point, I don't see a center. Nanu looks like he's ready for spot time...similar to Capela in his rookie year.
