The Rockets finally have legit backcourt depth and amazing team chemistry, something I wouldn't mess or tinker with unless someone gets injured. With the addition of Lou, you can finally rest Harden the extra few minutes a game (cutting his minutes to less than 36 to 30-32 minutes a game) and perhaps giving him an extra boost of energy in the 4th quarter.

Questions still linger in regards to the F/C positions but adding Lou gives us insurance when Gordon and Beverley miss games from injuries. Plus you actually have a guard that shoots the 3 well and does not need the ball in his hands to contribute effectively on the court. Lou can play off the ball with Gordon/Harden and he can handle the ball if need be.

Won't get to shoot as much as a starter.

since eg is injury prone and logging too many minutes, dont u think its better for lou to come off the bench to ease his scoring load?

defense, like the mid-range shot, is still part of the game, contrary to what a lot of rockets fans think. need bev for that.

You obviously don't know the Rockets offense that well. Haha...who rolls hard to the basket in the 2nd unit that a pass is there for them?

With D'Antoni offense, the PG is the one that find ways to drive hard to the basket to suck in the defense and kick a pass out to the perimeter guys.

The 2nd ideal facilitator is the 4 spot. They also roll hard to the basket while posting up and hit the perimeter guys for corner 3s or at the elbow.

Otherwise, you spread out your Bombers around the perimeter. Have your 4 and 5 set a pick and reacte to the defense.

Lou will be coming off the bench regardless. There's no way you can pair Lou/Harden/Anderson in the starting 5 unit. Capela would get KILLED in foul trouble.

This is why Wilson Chandler makes so much sense but Ibaka would have been perfect for Rockets. You can bring Anderson off the bench, which is the best fit for him. He is no starting-material with that black-hole defense hanging over his head.

I start Lou over Beverly. When Lou gets over 30 minutes a game this season, he averages 30+ pts a game. Our offense just got monsterized, as long as #33 gets 0 minutes I'm okay.

Nuggets know the Rockets need, they are going to not be kind to Chandler's asking price. Getting Lou for what the price we paid is a steal.

Nope. The point of having Lou Williams is to never be short on high-quality shot creation. Harden is such a good shot creator that he doesn't particularly need help; the bench does.

I would hope this sees the rotation revamped a little bit to keep Beverley playing more of the first quarter with Harden and less of the second quarter without him.

No. Bev should remain the starter. He has a great chemistry with Harden and is the perfect backcourt mate since he's a solid defender, doesn't need the ball and has developed into a respectable spot-up shooter with a decent teardrop when he drives into the lane.

Williams and Gordon can come off the bench together and will likely develop a good chemistry of their own. Williams is more of a playmaking guard while Gordon is a spot-up shooter and underrated defender.

Actuallly i would like Gordon to start now. Lou coming of the bench with Dekker, Pat and Harrel/Nene sounds great. He can create shots and get as many screens as he wants. And our offense in final minutes of the game will be unstopable. Imagine Harden with the ball while EG, Lou and Anderson are spacing and Nene finishing at the rim.

And the best thing about everything is that i can't see failure right now. Lou is just that good shooter and u can't let him go open in the corner like Ty then at the time.

No way. The whole point of bringing in Lou Williams is to reduce the minutes on the floor that the Rockets have to rely on Pat Beverley as the primary shot creator with the bench unit & to reduce Hardens minutes giving him more rest.

Its also duel purposed to have another Eric Gordon when Eric Gordon gets injured. Also when Pat Bev is on the floor he has the ability to just worry about Pat Bev things that are so crucial to this team.... especially guarding the other teams best perimeter player.

Good pickup but no need to overthink the fit.

A better question is who finishes a game because all your best players are in the backcourt.

Bev, Harden, Gordon, Lou, Ariza who sits to get Ryno or a big in the game?

Let Lou run the point off the bench. He draws double teams, gets to the line and is a very underrated passer. This is the OKC trade all over again except we still have Harden. Lou's going to beast in this system.

I think Morey is going after Faried next.

No. The bench need more potent scorers, not the starter. But he may get plenty of chances given Bev history of injury.

NOOOOO. Bev is one of the better fit starters next to Harden in this league

Let Egooo and Lou come in and rain 3's and points on the opposition.

However, down the stretch I'm no opposed to going small ball with an all offense unit

    Harden
    Lou
    EGoo
    Ariza
    Ryan

    LOL

Trez rolls hard. Nene rolls hard. You must be a non-sturdy type, especially below the belt, if you have never noticed this.

No chance. Lou is a weak defender and small. A starting backcourt of Harden/Lou would get abused and you would be taking away a lot of Lou's positives if you turned him into a simple catch and shoot guy for Harden.

Whoever has the hot hands that game. Incentive that 4th quarter.
