I'm so happy we are going to honor OT next week. While that other team who claimed to be tough and lost to the tougher team in 1994 had their power forward arrested in their own arena, We are honoring a class act!
Love OT. Fantastic rocket. Went toe-to-toe with the Knicks' bruising front line, fought with honor and perseverance. Never let them get under his skin, never reacted to anything, did his job and was a huge reason Houston got its first Larry O'Brien trophy.
Also, I would like to add, how is his jersey not hanging in the rafters? My goodness. It seems like OT sometimes is the forgotten Rocket legend. Those palmed outlet passes man....
Will always remember his one hand tomahawk dunks, Same dunk 95% of the time. Over the shoulder. And on point. Spurs, or am I thinking Maxwell. Maybe neither. All in know is, same draft as Willis... and some other pretty good players
Even with Kenny Smith just cheering on OT & Max, I'd still take those three over Oakley, Ewing and Harper in a fight.
And if it's an SAT test, any team with Oakley and Ewing goes down faster than a drunk cheerleader at a homecoming party.
I met OT at some poker game in Austin a few years back, pretty cool guy. I was going to talk more with him but it was a pretty big tournament and got moved around on tables. In the short time though I let him know I was a big Rocket fan. Anyway, he definitely deserves the honor. The Rockets should give him a 95 ring too, haha. Without him... no Clyde.
