It's Very Simple: Get Romo or Jimmy G

We need to stop trying to get QB through free agency. As much as I would love to have Romo or Jimmy G, the Texans simply don't have the cap room or the assets to trade for them. The Texans are in this QB rut because of not drafting a QB. The Texans wasted 3-5 years because they chose not to invest in a QB via draft. The Texans needs to scout heavily in QB this season and draft the QB they like in the first or second round. Since David Carr, the Texans had not attempted to draft a young QB and that is why they are stuck where they are. They will never find a franchise QB by signing backups through free agency.

Romo got hurt getting sacked playing behind one of the top NFL offensive line. Imagine Romo playing behind the inconsistent O-Line of the Texans... He wouldn't even last a week playing behind this Texan's O-Line.

The Texans need to start investing more on their Offensive line, they need consistency and invest in drafting a QB.

There are plenty of Pats fans who wouldn't even trade Jimmy G for JJ Watt, they want a 1st rounder in addition to it. They think he's a franchise QB.

Draft a QB that won't get a concussion on a QB sneak.

Saw a video of every jimmy garropolo throw in the first 2 weeks of the season.

He looked pretty good. Good accuracy, quick throwing motion, good pocket presence, stands in the pocket and goes through his reads.

He looked good but it's too small of a sample size. I don't want another Osweiler situation.

And when they would have ended up drafting Bortles or Manziel, what would the complaints have been?

Honestly, the only time they've had both a high draft pick and a dire need for a QB is 2014... they chose Clowney over the QB's.... but Bortles/Manziel were way ahead on everybody's draft board. Way ahead of Carr and Jimmy G.

Yeah, you need to see how a QB reacts after getting hit a few times. David Carr looked great initially. Last year's Brock had a different confidence about him.

As soon as a QB starts to take a few licks... really starts to show you what they're made of. Some brush it off... some don't recover.

League minimum contract and he'll get his opportunity to get injured in the first quarter of the first game he plays for us.

The thing about Jimmy G is that he has a very quick release and good accuracy. Brock had accuracy problems all along, it was a HUGE concern when we signed him. The thought was he could work it out and would improve. However, there were plenty of people who said it couldn't be and they were right. I know Braddock isn't liked around here because he isn't pro-Texans, but his film study on Brock when we signed him ended up being spot on. Lance Z watched Osweiler in camp and said the same things. Slow, long delivery, doesn't throw with anticipation and doesn't have good accuracy. All of that was known from his time in Denver and held true here.

What people like about Jimmy? Footwork, quick release and accuracy. Those are things that translate to production, even if he won't be "special."

I know Bobby doesn't agree with me on Jimmy G, and that's ok. I agree with HIM on Romo. Love Romo the player, would take him for free, but have no faith whatsoever that he can stay healthy ESPECIALLY behind a less than elite offensive line.

Yeah. Agreed. Good release, good footwork. Much better mechanics than Brock.

However, accuracy is usually the first thing to go when QB's start to get happy feet when they start to face consistent pressure.

An always underrated aspect of Brady and Peyton wasn't that they were necessarily fast on their feet (we know they weren't)... it was that they had an uncanny ability to know exactly where the pressure would likely be coming from... and have the perfect ability to side-step or avoid taking any sorts of big hits.

Hell, Brady looked shaken just on Saturday after a few big hits. All QB's suffer from it.

But if its a question on whether or not he'll be better than Brock... its clearly a no-brainer... and BOB finally gets a guy who he went on record saying he wanted/liked (then why didn't you trade up to get him?!?!!!).

I wanted Jimmy G in the draft. I really really wanted him. Not so much now.

That would be something I would be for and it would be interesting to say the lease.

Bob gets his "control" and Brock gets cut and that's bobs way of saying hey Mr.Mcnair and Rick shove your QB.

Bob then gets Jimmy G and says now watch how this offense takes off.

The Texans should be done with taking someone else's trash. It hasn't worked yet. It's time to groom their own QB.

Neither Romo or Jimmy G would qualify as trash. Romo has been great when healthy and only lost his job due to a phenom. Jimmy G is stuck behind Tom Brady, so we have no idea if he's any good or not. These are not journeyman QBs or QBs being benched for performance. It's like saying the Texans shouldn't have taken Brees or Manning because they were other team's trash when released by San Diego and Indy.
