Stephen Curry has 94 triples made in 25 games this season Eric Gordon has 90 triples made in 25 games this season Last year Curry had 126 3PTM advantage over Klay Thompson, who's finished second In 2014/2015 Curry had 47 3PTM advantage over Klay Thompson, who's finished second The gap is extremely close, especially with an easy upcoming schedule: Rockets are playing 4 of the next 5 games vs sup-bar or even horrible defensive teams, who's also playing fast, so opporutinities are definitely there. EG is doing a great job, he's not only staying close to the best shooter of all-time, he's also playing less minutes, making a better percentage of his three-point shots and he's locked in for Sixth Man of The Year if healthy
As much as I want Eric Gordon to win 6th man of the year, I could see how Lou Williams might win considering how much he's improved the Lakers bench
If the rockets keep this pace up and EG is hitting threes at this rate with better efficiency than curry, he's winning the award in a land slide. Lou will has been bery good but the lakers have really slowed down. I doubt they win more than 30 games. Which is and improvement but it looks like houston is going to win 15 more games than last year also.
If you win enough basketball games, award shower the personnel. If Rockets win 55-60 games, and the players have the legit numbers, then they will get some awards. Most improved, MVP, best 6th man, coach of the year, all possibilities as if now.
This, unfortunately, has been the crux of Gordon's career. When healthy, he has always been a great player. I remember when there was legitimate debate of whether he or Harden was the better SG. However don't forget that the same thing used to be said about Curry. Curry also used to have a hard time staying healthy, had persistent ankle issues and had people wondering if he would ever be healthy enough to fulfill his potential. It is amazing how a healthy year can completely change people's perceptions. Especially if coupled with team success. Let's hope this is that year for Gordon!
