Yes. You've been on CF so long, and you don't know the power of wishing? :p

Am I crazy to say don't match? I understand the contract could potentially be amazing value, and I like him as added depth, but he doesn't fill our biggest gap, which is another rebounding big, e.g. Chandler. Nene, Trez, Dekker, Anderson - I'd be happy with him taking Nene's minutes, but the only reason I'd want him signed is if Morey expects 1 or both of Dekker & Trez to be part of a larger trade/upgrade later in season.

With 5 million guaranteed next year, I don't think a Morey will match. Hurts his chances at Hayward or Griffin.

Wouldn't trade Dekker at this point.
Too much upside. Second only to Gordo for scoring and playmaking on 2nd unit
3rd best 3pt % on team only behind Anderson & Gordon. THAT in itself is a reason to keep
him and give him more PT. He not only spreads the floor, but he cuts well and scraps for rebounds

The Rockets biggest weakness now is not rebounding. They are 9th in the league. What they need is team defense (27th). A healthy DMo can help in that regard.

    Right before the 2015 playoffs.

Health is DMo's biggest concern. Yes, everybody knows it. If that wasn't a concern, he couldn't be had for so cheap. The whole DMo drama is keyed on whether his back can hold up.

I was only pointing out that his rebounding is not a problem for us, as the poster I was replying to had asserted.

Given the way Morey treated Howard I don't think free agents will sign here.

Unless a major prerequisite for an elite agent to come here is the power to conduct as many playas only meetings as he likes, Morey is not going to have issues luring free agents here.

Wondering how this contract will affect our ability to make moves this offseason, paging BimaThug?
Also, do we have to cut somebody to sign DMo?

The more I think about this, the more I'm leaning towards Morey not matching.

I think he lets D-Mo go to the nets.

Please don't match the offer for this stiff.

My question is Can DMo last in this offense? Can he keep up with the fast pace? Is his conditioning and stamina at top levels?

The way our team is constructed, I wouldn't be surprised to see him lumbering around a la Yao back in the day.

We actually play at a pretty slow pace.

The McHale teams we had, in which D-Mo played well, played at a significantly faster pace than this.

I asked this last night and never got a serious answer but why? For what reason would Morey NOT match? There's absolutely no risk and only reward in the deal. Still want to clear space using that money in the offseason? You can, easily. Want to keep him long term? 9 mil is a steal.

I just can't see any valid reason NOT to match.

Maybe it's just from watching the past two nights that got my mind thinking about how fast we transition from one side to another

I don't really have a formal answer for that.

Just a gut feeling based on a couple of things Morey has done in the past and Les' personality.

Obviously, from a logical standpoint it's a no brainer.
