You don't trade away a Spacing Unit Version 3P-Open Blaster for a Scruncherbot 27C Slash'n'Bash.

Seriously, we've been trying to acquire Ryan Anderson for years. He's the stretch 4 we needed.

first try to trade brewer and filler, then go for anderson. i dont like his contract at all. next offseason and draft is much better than the past one. get a 2nd chance to get something better. plus we'd be an even better fa destination after last seasons debaclry.

forget the chemistry, how the hell are we gonna add a 2nd star player and enough role players with ryan's contract?

No. he wouldn't fit. he's a cancer. the floor is space nicely right now. he will just iso so no. don't wanna ruin the chemistry we are rolling right now. but he does play good defense tho

Yeah, cause Ryno is on the level of those stars. "They traded a role player, so as a center piece of a franchise, I think its risky to go there" NBA players arent stupid. They understand what bad contracts mean and trading a role player would not hurt any chances of them coming here, especially if it were to clear room for them

Nah. Ryno spaces the floor even without making shots. It is enticing though.

The spacing the Ryno brings is very important for our offense.

Ryno spaces floor. Floor needs Ryno.

Just wanted to offer some original insight.

This is a joke, right? Anderson is going to be great for us when he gets his bearings. He's a proven floor spacer, which was exactly what we needed, and he's a Dirk Nowitski-like shooter in that he can make from anywhere on the court. Even though his shots haven't fallen the way we'd like them too (and the way they will) but his mere presence out there is what gives Harden so much more room to operate than he ever has before. The same is true, to a lesser extent, of Ariza, Gordon, Beverley, and Dekker, only one of whom we had last year as this is essentially Dekker's rookie year. But it's most true of Ryan Anderson. You cannot leave him even four feet behind the 3 point line. That changes everything for us.

I would be very hesitant to give up on the Anderson experiment when it's so successful even when his shot isn't falling, especially so early.

I'm all for improving the team and I know Morey never rests and is always trying to improve the roster, but I'm also hesitant to fix what isn't broken and possibly break it in the process.

We had a very tough schedule to open the season. Games will get easier for us. It's a really great time to be a Rockets fan and there's no way I'm trading Anderson unless it's for someone great.

lmao "floor spacer" "floor spacing" "spaces the floor" or hubie would say "spacer of floors"

we're paying ryan 20m per for someone on the opposing team to stick to him like glue behind the 3pt line lol u guys..stop hitting yoruself in the head with a hammer. we dont need to pay someone to do that esp at 20m per ffs

Well there's two aspects to being a shooter IMHO:

    1. The perception of what a shooter brings to the team
    2. What the shooter actually brings to the team

So with no 1 I definitely have no problems with Ryan Anderson, you're right his reputation as a scorer really opens things up with the entire team. But if you look at number two:
Trevor Ariza 3.1 threes per game
James Harden 3.1 threes per game
Eric Gordon 3.0 threes per game
Ryan Anderson 2.5 threes per game

So in our starting line up he's actually the 4rth worst when it comes to contributing 3s in the game, not because his % is bad but rather because his FGA is so low. So honestly even his his % doesn't matter because his total contribution for 30 mins of PT is still too small due to his attempts. My problem with this is what if the opponents call Ryan Anderson's bluff? Coaches do this for a living, they would have crunched the numbers and pretty much determined that Anderson can't win the game because he doesn't shoot enough. So if they leave him open like what SAS did in the 2nd game against us or the Cleveland game then there's a high chance we lose the game.

Brewer, KJ, Dekker, and a 2nd round pick is closer to reality. Remember Brewer has one more year on his deal so that really kills his value even more. I'm guessing the Kings shoot that down offer down though.

I too, would say no to that trade. However, I don't know why you guys keep saying that his shots aren't falling. He's shooting 40.4% from 3 (the second best rate of his career). Yes, his overall FG% is down, 39.7%, but he's had two under 40% FG seasons in his career. He needs to find other efficient ways to score if he wants to build on that 12.4 ppg avg.
