Been thinking about this. Do Saxophone solos and riffs make any song worse than it is/could be? I think they only enhance a good song and make a bad song slightly better. Any thoughts? Favourite Sax solos and riffs? Of course one of the "greatest" of the bad songs made better by the sax Now the rest of the songs with quality Sax work Some Foreigner All of "Who can it be now" Some Pink Floyd The Queen aka Sade and Smooth Operator
Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street Glenn Frey Anything by Bruce or anyone else that had Clarence Clemons in it is for sure on the list. What are some of your favourites and what are some you think of that are terrible songs/would be terrible songs without the Sax raising the quality of it?
Dire Straits - Going Home - Chris White (saxophone) Eagles - The Sad Cafe - David Sanborn (alto saxophone)
I need to get back on the Sax... Haven't played in a while but have 10+ yrs experience. Haha, what's great is a few of these catchy songs/hits are pretty easy compared to some crazy jazz players/tracks. Of course, Careless Whisper will be requested regardless so that's a plus for beginning players to look good.
Bad to the Bone and Heart of Rock & Roll were the first two songs to come to mind after reading the title.
That saxophone player at the old Prohibition on Westheimer pulled more p***y than anybody I have ever seen. Girls would walk up to that goofy **** and throw their digits into his sax while he was playing.
Lol my bad. With age I guess my memory is getting worse. I should have done a search but I was so confident that i never had a thread about this. Maybe they can be merged?
