Harrell is a terrible rebounder, Faried is a great rebounder Pretty big gap between them on a very important skill a PF needs to have. That being said, without minimizing the importance of rebounding, I agree I would rather just stand pat with Dmo then give up any real assets for Faried due to his poor fit in our system / next to Capela.
This guy was amazing with Harden in the Olympics a few years back. It was a non stop alley - oop fest. I disagree that he wouldn't fit, but I do agree the price is probably too high.
Faried is a good defender? I had always heard he wasn't. His DRPM isn't good either: -0.91 (79th out of 94 PF's)
That's like saying somebody is like Ray Allen without the shot. Faried's possibly biggest strength is Harrell's biggest weakness.
Just because he doesn't shoot 3's doesn't mean he wouldn't fit. He would be great coming off the bench as I would rather start Nene because he can shoot the midrange jumper. But Capela can't finish, and this isn't new, he hasn't been able to finish around the basket since his rookie year. The MANIMAL on the other hand can finish, rebound better and defend better than Capela.
I would. We basically already have Faried on the roster now, his name is Harrell. There's a reason why Denver has been trying to dump him for quite a while now and hasn't been able to. He's a classic example of an exciting athletic player that isn't very good overall.....but that's enough to fool some.
Because of our system, and because of fit next to Capela I would rather re-sign Dmo then to give up assets for Faried. I don't think Harrell is nearly as good right now, and I'm not saying Dmo is a clear cut better player then Faried.
And anecdotal, at best. Head to head, Dmo has a slight advantage in offensive efficiency, however Faried just slaughters him from a rebounding perspective. Offensively he is going to get more offensive rebounds, and turn the ball over less. Defensively he will rebound and block more shots. Faried is a superior player.
I don't think blocks really covers defense statistically that well. Also, how are DMO 2013 stats relevant to anything? He clearly improved in every way 2014. Honestly, 2014-15 is not relevant either, since he hasn't reproduced that production after his terrible injury. Have to consider salary too.
He can't shoot and showed zero development the last years. Numbers stagnated. There's a reason why he has been on the trade block for such a long time with nobody willing to pay. Do not want.
