I don't like it. I honestly thought Beasley was finding his place in the NBA with the rockets. I know he's a perennial tease but I thought the rockets were gonna be the team that actually got his potential out of him

I swear a lot of y'all have that aggy mentality... Let the season play out before complaining we traded for Bowie and gave up MJ.

This is true but at that time it really seemed to me there was no one to pass to. In my mind whatever Beas would do with the ball was more likely to produce results than if he had given it to say Ariza or anyone else. All rockets besides Harden neither could pass the ball nor finish well.

I feel like we could've gotten more for Beasley and just signed a free agent point guard similar to Ennis... but I trust Morey and I'm sure he likes his potential to run Pringles' offense.

I hope this means Motiejunas is most likely coming back.

I watched some videos about Tyler Ennis and Deron Williams and saw some similarities between the two. Hope he can develop into a Deron type of player in a few years.

Bad trade....no athletism. No talent. Someone on this board compared him to Deron Williams. Great comparison except for the small detail that DW is a sharpshooter and Ennis can't shoot.

the last Canadian point guard Coach Pringles had turned out alright - give the kid a chance.

Do the people objecting to this trade honestly think Beasley was going to play this year?

I loved Beasley last season, he was one of the only bright spots of the entire campaign. He was productive but i'm not sure he would have fit well into Pringles system. He was the sort of player to go 1 on 1 ISO more often than not (I don't think that was merely a product of our system).

Meanwhile Ennis shows decent PG skills on a team with not many playmakers, he's young and he's projected to dramatically improve. Plus it's not like we gave up anyone who wasn't already expendable.

I still don't like the trade but I'm willing to give it a chance.. Just don't let the kid rot on the bench please

I was skeptical at first, but Ennis has potential... While I agree that he was literally the only other person harden had trust in during the dumpster fire last season, he was ultimately a net negative on defense. Having said that, this could have been a factor due to the horrendous team defense rolled out by the rockets last season, making our best defensive players on the roster look like scrubs.

This. Beasley was a poor defender. Not a bad guy to have on your bench, but no big loss either.

Ennis is improving. It started after the all-star break. The question is how much will he improve.

I think Pringles must have asked for this move because DM could have pulled more for Beasley if given the time.

I wonder how many posters who hate this trade ALSO hated the signing of Beasley from China....

According to multiple sources this move was in the works for a while not just the last two days.

Also Ennis hasn't shown much improvement after the ASW so I don't know what you are talking about. What he has improved on?

I actually love this trade, and lately I've hated almost everything about this team.

Ennis has very good court vision. Something we desperately need in this offense because Bev doesn't have any.

That's one reason I like the trade is because I'm sure MDA had to approve of it (or at least we hope) and he has an extremely good track record with PGs.
