Dwight is all about HYPE. He wants to go to the latest hype beast team in GS. Once he gets there, he will tell them they need to be unselfish and play HIS way because he knows what it takes to win (without having won a damn thing)! Dudes delusional, and after defending him for three years straight, I couldn't be happier he decided to move on. How you gonna push to do what you suck at, and whine they people are just trying to put you in the best position to win? That's what entitled, prima dona, drama queens do! #ByeFelicia

Maaaaaan I greeted Howard with open arms when he came, defended him among all the haters, championed his playoff performances in '14 & '15, but last year was a real kick in the nuts. How can you demand more post-up touches and then quit on the team when you're denied selfish wants, stupid wants, over team needs? It makes me un-forgive all the boneheadedness he gave us and it makes me begrudgingly agree with his detractors: Cancer, Cowwwward, Soft, too much of a jokester, not serious about a 'ship.

Dwight's parting gift to the Rockets absolutely would be for him to go to the Warriors. I don't know which analogy fits best, if it's like a Trojan horse or like the old war strategy of catapulting diseased cadavers into your enemy's city gates, but I totally agree with people here saying Dwight would wreak havoc on that well-oiled Warriors super mojo. He's always too on the nose with his brute strength. He doesn't have the guile of Bogut or Green in setting those dirty screens. He'll pick up a ton of fouls. He'll slow them down and won't play their system. His minutes on the court will be minutes of them not having their Death Lineup or 2.0 version thereof on the court. Whether or not there's anti Hack-a rules in place, he'll still miss a gajillion free throws. Guys will be lining up to foul him on attempts to avoid Splash Bro 3s. Throw in an injury here or there that won't surprise anyone and I guarantee you our addition by subtraction will be Golden State's subtraction by addition. Do it, Dwight. Go get you some Bay Area.

I thought we did that for the 14-15 playoffs, and he more or less bought in. He must have forgotten what he said prior to the 2015 playoffs because he reverted to diva Dwight for most of 2016.

I think it could be good for both parties, assuming Howard is good playing the role they give him (and people will say that's not possible). He'd only be a garbage man on offense, but he'd be an asset to them on defense. Of course, Durant would be better for them if they can do it.

If Dwight goes there, it's pretty safe to assume he's accepting a downshift in his role that would be good for him and good for them. I just don't know if he has the maturity, even at this point in his career, to make that sacrifice.

Howard is a big man who thrives in defensive schemes. Of course he wants to leave a team that plays no defense for a team that does .

Can the Warriors afford both Dwight and Durant? I doubt either of them would take a pay cut. And if you're the Warriors, wouldn't you throw all your money at the former MVP and in-his-prime Durant.

Only reason he would want to go to GSW is so the refs will stop calling fouls on his screens.

No way can they afford both.

It's going to be extreamly tough for them to open up enough space to get even one Max slot.

They have to get rid of bogut iggy a lot of there reserves and renounce Barnes cap hold.

Don't forget, they supposedly want Nowitski too. Seems like every "big name" is linked to GSW these days

Everybody has Dwight going somewhere by sign and trade or just bolting. I suspect this is all a little melodrama for an extension with the Rockets at some heavenly (hellish?) price. Morey's pride will be at stake.

I see Dwert going to Dallas eventually. I think he is all about money and they are desperate enough that LA may be willing to give him a four year max because they strike out everywhere else. He plays a coveted position that commonly gets overpaid. He can continue to get overpaid because while he does not produce at a star level, he once did and will at least not be a bust so teams feel comfortable overpaying him for that rim protector presence.

Coincidence that Cyberx posts this news, before and the same day of, that the news of Dwight Howard will be opting out?

    Interesting timing.

[rquoter]The Knicks are looking to upgrade their backcourt this offseason. But if they have any interest in a center, one of the top bigs on the market would be open to signing with them. The Knicks are one of several teams Dwight Howard would consider in free agency, league sources say. Howard told friends earlier in the season that he was interested in playing for the Knicks; that interest remains as Howard approaches free agency, per league sources. It's unclear, though, if Phil Jackson and the Knicks would have any interest in Howard. They signed Robin Lopez to a four-year contract last summer. Lopez was a bright spot for the club during last year's 32-win campaign. The club is expected to have at least $30 million in cap space this summer.
