Hulk Hogan leg drops Gawker on Twitter after $140 million judgment

About 10 years or so ago, Hogan's "friend", Radio Shock Jock Bubba the Love Sponge videotaped Hogan having sex with the Sponge's wife, without Hogan's knowledge.

Couple of things to note here:

• At the time, Hogan was going through a divorce, I think, from his wife, so he was reportedly under a lot of emotional stress
• Bubba offered his wife to Hogan (because Bubba and his wife are famous and notorious swingers)

"Somehow", this tape got "leaked" onto the internet by Gawker (also incidentally, it's the same tape that recently had Hogan going on a "racist" rant about his daughter and n!ggers, and got him removed from WWE).

The actual tape is somewhere around 10 to 15 minutes in total length, I think. making its way onto YouTube saw most of it get clipped and edited and chopped up...I think the actual sex portion was only about 10 to 15 seconds...

...anyway, I'm glad this went in Hogan's favor. Even though he's been a celebrity for more than 40 years, he has a right to his privacy, such as it is.

If he actually had no knowledge or expectation of being filmed or recorded here, he had every right to expect restitution.

I image the size of the settlement (since references are being made to the Erin Andrews judgment) has to do with the fact the Gawker published and redistributed this edited video online and received a lot of notoriety and money for it. It was a business enterprise, in effect...not quite the same thing as what happened to Ms. Andrews (because the Marriott Hotel could only be obtusely implicated in the man filming Andrews, no matter how obviously coincidental his appearances at the hotel at the same time as hers seem now, in hindsight...)...

Where does karma fit into sleeping with your best friend's wife then getting paid $140M?

 

Prolly in the garage when the money hits the bank.

 

I mean it's seedy and all, but allegedly his best friend is the one who set up the bangjob with his own wife so...

 

It did kind of ruin his career.

 

Not really, WWE will probably hire him back after everybody forgets about this in like 6 months, if not, he has other options

Its karma for how they went after/outed Peter Thiel. Hogan was just the tool of said Karma. Thiel got his revenge.
