Good to finally take an easy one. Got to save our pen and put some wear and tear on theirs in Game 1. Still a big fan of the way a Kemp/Marisnick 8 and 9 has been looking. Both have been getting OB at a solid clip, and are dynamic when there. Team's finally rolling, just gotta get Correa up to speed, and we're primed to make a run. Also, anyone else noticing just how big of a signing Fister's ended up being? He's been that calming presence in a shaky rotation.
To all the posters on the castrated-jero bandwagon.... You could say the exact same about the highly respected poster REEKO for mostly posting negative comments. That fact is true not only in this forum, but the Texans forum too. Now, I have no beef with REEKO, AT ALL... just pointing out how different mentality can be depending whether or not you accept/like somone. Jero does post more positive than H-TOWN does in this forum.
Between his peripherals and his usually poor velocity (although it was nice today), I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop with Fister. But he just keeps trucking along. He's been one of the steals of the offseason thus far
He knows how to pitch, some guys - Jamie Moyer, etc... - can basically live on slop and give the middle finger to your peripherals.
Well that was fun. Let's do it again tomorrow afternoon. Awesome start time for the Saturday game, wish I was off from work.
Yeah, need to get to .500 first. Would be sweet if we've chipped our way back there by the halfway point. Let's take these next two. Already dreading the Rangers series. They need to surprise and make that the true turning point in the season.
The fact it is his bobble head game should have absolutely nothing to do with the lineup. You play to win the game We are facing a RHP anyway so the chance of Colby sitting is extremely low. If we were facing a LHP he should have sat though, regardless of the bobble head Something tells me if tomorrow were Gomez bobble head day and he sat for Marisnik, you wouldn't be upset that a guy sat on his promo day
So are the Astros good now? Or is it the weak schedule. Either way, I'm starting to get the feeling that they are going to find a way to win every game.
The schedule is finally easing up, that certainly plays into it, but nobody was making mention of how lethal the schedule was for the first 3 weeks of May. We played 20 straight games against winning clubs and went 10-10. We've been playing good ball for over a month now, but that one series against the Rangers stopped us in our tracks. We're now 26-24 against everybody else, and 0-6 against Texas. We really need to find a way to beat them.
Good to have an easy win last tonight, but the key is to get to .500 and above by the all-star break. Bring in another reliever by the trade deadline....what will it take to get Chapman from the Yankee?
I am still worried about Gregerson, he already has 4 blown saves. Hopefully Giles will be a closer at some point, with Feliz pitching the 7th and Harris the 8th.
That may be the case, but it appears they have 3 guys who could step right into the closer's role if need be.
Got to be a mental thing. They simply are not far and away so much better than us to have the kind of record we have, and have had against them.
"We're now 26-24 against everybody else, and 0-6 against Texas." That's the stat of the day right there!
