LMAO @ people on this site overvaluing Adams. If it wasn't Adams it would be another cheap big and they could've kept Harden and Ibaka if they had done things correctly. With Harden they would have a couple of rings already. You can are whether or not they would have needed a big this year but in previous years Adams was not this good and with Harden they would have won.
Not even. Their chances would have been even better. Harden is more controlled than WB is down the stretch. We saw it against Dallas and SA during their 2012 Finals run. They would have been deadly with Hardens foul drawing/FT making and drive/dish ability.
Harden is #2 offensively in the NBA and thats at the disfunctional Rockets, whereas Curry is at the purring Warriors No f*ing way that he wouldn't make OKC MUCH stronger.
i think they would have multiple championships... Harden is a GREAT player to compliment your stars.... but him as the lead dog...ehhhh....
I don't see how harden, westbrook, and durant could co exist without harden taking a significantly different role on the team. He wouldn't be the 29-6-7 guy he is now.
I am not over rating Adams, i am valuing his Defense and his Gritt. if you dont have Adams, to be physical with Green and be able to go out on the perimeter and Defend, then switch on the pick and role, there isnt a way you can beat GSW. With GSW they are forcing teams to have a center that can do all those things. Adams single handedly frustrated Green They really dont need a Harden type player to win a Ring. There is enough scoring on that team. The reason why they lost was Westbrook killing the momentum to shoot a pull up 3. All the finger pointing in the last 2 games. There is only 1 ball, how do you share that all with Harden/Westbrook & Durant. People are expecting Harden to be the same player he is now but if he was still in OKC, i dont think he would the same player.
They ran out of gas in the 4th and couldn't score points in games 6 or 7. You lose some defense with Harden but you gain another scorer and passer. They had Collison who served that Adams role for years. Guys like Adams are great pieces but they aren't unique. Take Biyombo, who was signed for cheap. You can find guys like that, that are good defenders and have one or two elite or good skills and minimal deficiencies. But you can't replace superstar talent.
The real question is, do the Rockets upset the Warriors in the first round with Adams and no Harden? We could then have Adams and Dwight out there disrupting everything!
They would have EASILY already won a title, and probably fairly easily beaten the Warriors. You guys are out of your mind to think that isn't the case. Harden was fine being 6th man if he got the max. Ibaka could have been kept if OKC pays lux tax (which they should be fine doing considering the value of their franchise would skyrocket AND the value of NBA franchises in general are killing it). If you think Curry and Thompson are a killer combination, with decent role players like Draymond and Iggy. If Durant, Westbrook, Harden and Ibaka that would kill that lineup. Ibaka and Durant are 7 footers with ridiculous athleticism, Westbrook and Harden are bigger stronger guards than Curry and Thomas. AND You have 3 players who can all control the ball if needed. Warriors would get worn down, the big 3 on OKC would play 35+ minutes a game during the playoffs, and at least 2 would be on the court at all times. How many teams can say they have a top 10 player, let alone 2 on the court at ALL TIMES. AND they are all 3 younger than Curry which is also ridiculous.
