What is Dwight opts to stay and we pick up Horford as a PF? I am not so sure Dwight is gone yet because he has no real value now.
If we wanted MCW he wouldn't be too hard to get because he's bad at basketball. But since he's bad at basketball I doubt the Rockets want him. We already have Brewer filling that spot in our rotation.
Philly would have sooo much incentive to do that deal. Ariza, a 31 year old role player is exactly what they need and Jahil Okafor a top 3 pick in last year's draft it such a small price for them to pay.
1. S&T Dwight, Ariza and Dekker for Millsap, Sefalosha, Filler - Dwight is gone, but if he wants his $, maybe we can pull off a S&T. ATL can add him and a much needed true DTA 3-man in Ariza, plus re-up Horford to play his more natural PF spot. 2. Let Jones, Terry, Smith and D-Mo walk. 3. Sign Batum for around $15mil a year, and Noah on a short deal for whatever we have left, to provide leadership, defense and frontcourt passing (even if he's over the hill). Look for a shooter (SG) with a cheap deal. Maybe OJ Mayo, who was awful last year (albeit with injuries), but has shown he can handle a rotation role on a playoff team before. 4. Trade KJ, Brewer and a 2017 2nd for Lou Williams. - LA wants to open up as many minutes for Russell/Clarkson, and Lou cuts into that. KJ is a young developable piece to run/defend next to their core and the pick makes Brewer's deal more digestible. 5. With the #37 and #43 picks, target one NBA-ready guy and one BPA/upside guy. This draft is deeper than people make it out to be. Malcolm Brogdon (6'5" 225 SG from Virginia) is a ready DTA guy, and Petr Cornelie (7'0" 225 C/PF from France), if he slips is a great Frye-type stretch big with size. Capela - Noah - Cornelie Millsap - Beasley - Harrell Batum - Sefalosha Harden - Mayo - Brogdon Beverley - L.Williams (6th) That's not a powerhouse, but it's complete and I'm willing to bet the ball-movement, defense and chemistry would be much improved.
They're going to trade him anyway and its not going to be for fair value, cast your lot and see if they bite
I suggested Okafor the other day, but another poster told me he wants a fit for us and to look at Noel instead. Okafor avg 17.5 and 8. Noel was 11 and 8. I didn't understand the logic.
It won't look terrible after this off season, it will be fair. I look at it like this, would you prefer Howard at 23 million over Thompson at 16? Probably What if we could dump Brewer with him? Sounds better What if they threw in Shumpert? I'd probably do tt
There's more to basketball than box scores. (Not that I'm saying I want Noel, but I can see the logic. Okafor is a black hole on defense.)
And Noel can contribute without the ball in his hands. Okafor can't since he's currently so one dimensional. But bigs take time to develop - ask the Hornets how they feel about Bismack Biyombo now (he's the exception given how long he took, IMO)

time to take a flier on embiid. A bag of chips and a 2nd. He can fill our "Hasheem Thabeet" void. Spoiler srsly though, let's get him if he's cheap
