I think Conley can play with anyone very unselfish, the problem is you are overpaying for him. You gonna give spectacular money to an above average point guard. I read earlier someone posted Sergio is the more bang for your buck... I would agree. What do you think bro..?
I'm talking about judgement. Both are headcases. Both have been labeled coachkillers, uncoachable or some form of "If you've ever coached him, you hate his guts" . Both are notorious for boneheaded technical fouls, impromptu ejections and quitting on teams. Homophobic slurs, too, in one their cases. Basketball instincts are one thing...and Rondo's got that. It's all the other baggage he brings to the table that makes him so radioactive to me. And this all placing aside the fact that this is the first time he's eclipsed the 70 game mark in six years. Pass.
If he has such a high BBIQ you would think a team with a top 2 or 3 centers in the league would be much better just by adding Rondo to their team. If fact the rest of the guys on the team should be better offensive players just because of Rondo. Kings were 29-53 in 2014-15 and 33-49 in 2015-16. Only +4 wins. They were ranked #15 in OffRtg (102.5) in 2014-15 and also #15 (103.3) in 2015-16. Rondo is just a stat stuffer who isn't very smart without KG, Pierce and Allen.
I'm also on board with Rubio. He's only 25. Plays elite defense at the PG position, and unselfish player. Once he learns to shoot (has been improving), Rubio will deserve a max deal.
Who knows if Thibs is dumb enough to trade him for a package like Ariza and Beverly lol...the weak point of a coach playing the gm role is that he's often too much conditioned by what he needs/likes on the floor...
Still a very good playmaker, but Rondo without plus defense is useless. A point-guard who can't shoot is already disadvantaged. Add non-plus defense and dude better average 15+ ast/game with low TOs. Would be great to finally experience him.
Ish Smith is a poor man's Conley and cheaper. BUT, Ish Smith doesn't have that vet presence that can really make difference
Yeah he can't shoot it wont work. If you are going to run and gun with no defense ala the Suns everyone needs to shoot above average.
