This assuming his knee is fine. Billings has work ethic and should have a second round grade at worst if he's healthy.
I know this is the fanboy in me speaking, but it would truly be a magical offseason if we could bring AJ in for a workout. Cut Mumphrey, possibly Shorts, or even tell him to bulk up and play TE some downs. I really want him to be a part of something special here.
I don't like either of our current TEs so I'd sure like to see them get Jerell Adams. But I know there are needs on the other side of the ball... so Killebrew sounds like a good direction with the next pick if still there. Plus a LB and/or DL (sure could use a young big fat stump to spell and learn from Wilfork.)
Didn't realize Connor cook as still on the board. If he is there at one of our picks, I'd gamble on him. Lots of great qb traits worth gambling on late in a draft.
A QB seems like a bit of a reach given the immediate needs, but it could be a good investment for the future as potential trade bait at the very least.
If I were in love with osweiler I'd probably pass, but I'm still skeptical. I think bob loves osweiler though so...
So far I give this draft a B+. We have upgraded the offensive play making ability 100%. Godley and O'Brien can do so much more now causing defenses to play on their heels. Can you picture Hopkins and Fuller on the outside with B. Miller and either Strong on the inside. Brock in the shotgun and L. Miller on either side of him. Dang that formation right there will be lethal. Great job so far. Now all we have to grab either a Safety or Dlinemen with our 4th round pick. Other rounds best Available Player. We're set for a very exciting season.
Day 3 choices Shawn Oakman (Baylor DE) Ronald Blair (DE) Charles Tapper (DE - OK) Tyler Higbgee (TE) Jalen Mills (S LSU)
Oakman was arrested for sexual assault 2 weeks ago. Doubt he is on any teams board, let alone the Texans.
Hassan Ridgway in the fourth. Scooby Wright or Jayron Kearse in the fifth (A). Beau Sandland in the fifth (B).
Didn't expect Cash to drop from Day 2, but I think he'd be a GREAT fit if we can grab him in RD4. I also love Deon Bush, but RD4 might be a small stretch for him. I don't personally see the need for a TE. Griffin isn't awful, and CJ is a passable blocker that will hopefully have developed further as a pass catcher from YR2 to YR3. Roll with what we've got, address the few holes on defense, and if it's a major need in 2017, look at FA or an earlier pick in the draft.
Highly productive but doesn't have the physical traits that lead you to believe it will translate to the nfl
