If the players at least tried, the team could't be so suck.
The western union is so weak this season, but the team is almost lottery if the Clipper hasn't helped us

The way he was being spoken of by the media in the wake of his firing I would've thought every team with a coaching vacancy would be lining up to hire him.

Any team outside of the Kings reached out yet?

So, did Le$ lost the locker room before Morey? or did the city of Houston lost the locker room before Les?

    This is a freaking inception!

You put Harden, Howard, Lawson, Morey 4 people together? you bet who is the one working hardest for Houston Rockets? It is prob Morey.

Sometime it is employer's fault if employees don't work hard, but sometimes it is not.

I agree with most of this, but I think it was Harden and other players that gave up on McHale and went to the FO to throw him under the bus. I have no doubt that Morey does have top GM skills and many other team would latch on to him in a heartbeat, but the ultimate decision comes down to Les, even after all the basketball logic is discussed.

Couple issues you left out that has continued to be a stain on our team is the Kardashian curse, and team chemistry/trust were not handled correctly by management.

I would say James Harden working hardest.

Morey??? Lol, he almost did nothing this season.

We've screwed our last three coaches. Good luck bringing in a top tier coach after JVG, Adelman and McHale all left on bad terms.

I was ok with Mchale firing, but to bring in the assistant that had been working under Mchale was utter stupidity. A new coach should of been brought in, didn't have to be the best coach in the world, but someone with experience with veteran players. Perhaps things would of gone better

Coming in the season out of shape, dating with the ugly Kardashirn.

Yes, he is performing after half way through the season, but that doesn't making him the one working hardest.

Morey's work put Rockets in good position Cap-wise; He is always drafting good (latest example Capela); And he proves himself time after time that he can get deals done if opportunity presents itself (realistic opportunity).

I don't think these can be accomplished by not working hard

Most good head coaches are not hired midway through the season.
interim coach usually work for the rest of the season then a new head coach is hired.

can you give me some example that a new head coach is hired in the mid of season from outside?

My problem with it...completely ignored the health of the team at the time and how little work they actually accomplished in the preseason. It was well known the first month of the season was going to be rough because of that. They just wanted a fall guy or goat.

Harden rhetoric again. Any chance you get to sneak that in there and blame Harden you take. It's getting sad. We all know by now Dwight was the problem no sense trying to rewrite history in one post, this narrative will never stick. Even the hosts at the game the other knew something was up with Dwight. He played nowhere near all star level this year.

for the record, harden could have been in better shape, but part of the reason he wasn't in tip-top shape at the start of the season was his ankle injury he got playing in the drew league. better to not aggravate an injury sustained doing something strictly for recreational purposes than to over-work yourself and miss substantial time.

The decision to fire McHale is as mind-boggling as why they canned Rick Adelman. Here you have two coaches who far-exceeded expectation and were showing promise with their roster, and both were let go. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

This ^^^^. The players will respect a basketball guy over a numbers guys most days of the week. Especially if the numbers guy hasn't won anything.

So now we are down to faulting Morey for his analytics background again.... real original complaint.

Should we AGAIN state the fact that the San Antonio Spurs spend more, and have the largest analytics staff in the entire league? Does the Spurs use of analytics and the fact that both Pop & RC were never NBA players "lose the locker room"?

Look Morey knew and we all should have known that the team that Morey put together had the potential for a breakdown like this with the personalities of the stars that Morey HAD TO build this team with. You gambled with Dwight Howard, and James Harden, and you doubled down with other shaky personalities of supporting role players. Any idiot should know that the Rockets had a potentially combustible situation if things fell apart.

Morey took the risk that he took as 99% of us would have (DD would have rather had AB, 2Pat, Budinger, D-Mo, and Parsons in his starting lineup) and they had two really good seasons followed by a dud this year. 2/3 isn't bad, but the one crap season stands out because it will likely be the last of this duo.

It is what it is... we should have lost out to get out of the playoffs, we should have never made the Lawson trade, and we should have upgraded from McHale a year ago even despite having the highest winning percentage of any former Rockets coach... Mistakes will be made, but Morey didn't "lose the locker room", the locker room predictably lost itself... just be glad we got two good chances out of this roster & star duo rather than mediocrity. Next year we could be back to the drawing table trying to rebuild again.

Hasn't really scored that much of a good trade since Harden.

I hope he has not lost himself when things were going good.
