Nitro-Phos. You should be able to find it at Ace Hardware or Houston Garden Center.

And it buys the local radio douche to tell people how awesome it is. The best and best value is Lesco brand in 50 pound bags.

I'm not sure why Nitro-Phos always gets you so fired up. But they're a local company that makes a great product. To each his own I guess...

28-3-10 4.5% iron with 50% slow release and 39-0-0 with 100% slow release. Buying from john deere landscapes is about 10 bucks cheaper per bag which makes it WAY cheaper than..........

Because they spend their money on advertising instead of good product and raise their prices accordingly. The lawn application guide that douche uses is SO obviously to sell product.

Look at the fertilizer ratio numbers. The higher the first number, the greener it CAN get. Doesn't mean jack **** if the lawn aint watered right though. Lots of work if you plan on watering with just a waterhose though. Good fertilizer, DON'T over fertilize, and plenty of water and your good.

Nothing has ever gotten my grass greener than Ironite. It doesn't help your grass grow so you need to use it with another fertilizer, but man does it make it green.

What do you all do for weeds? Hand pull or is there really anything that will help other than that?

I'm going to spend my afternoon hours this week and all this coming weekend prepping to get everything planted and purdy later this month. Depending on what the weather allows.

I have 20 foot stretch of sickly looking red tip bushes along my driveway that need to be dug up and all the bull rock that's currently under them needs to be relocated. Then I'll have to sod over the remains. Not looking forward to this because it's going to look pretty bad for a month or two.

Then I need to reshape my largest flower bed to something that makes a little more sense, and dig up the queen palm that's currently in there. Also going to reshape a smaller flower bed to a less symmetrical amoeba shape, pull up a flag stone walk way, pressure wash the stones and re-lay with fresh crushed granite in between the stones.

Lastly, I'm going totally redo my sprinkler system. Going to put it in three new zones for the lawn, and four popup heads for my large flower bed.

    Should be fun.

I may try to get this done this evening, that way I won't have to water it all in. Mother Nature should take care of that.

It is still a great fertilizer. That 19-4-10 SuperTurf is great stuff.
