This is the story of me, the second car, patiently waiting for the first car to turn right into a lane with no oncoming traffic. This is a sad story.
Didn't read poll choices, lol Probably off topic, but people on I-10 West right after the Washington exit sure love to clump together in the 2 right lanes so that no one getting on can actually get in.
This is out of a building parking lot onto a not so crazy street. The lane they want to turn into is EMPTY but they wait for the other lane to be empty as well. Takes forever.
This is where you get in the left lane and angrily overtake the car in the right while giving him the staredown. Btw, I misread the poll. I would turn right 10/10.
I'll give drivers of fat-ass Suburban-type vehicles the benefit of the doubt. They might not be competent enough drivers to turn right in such an oversized vehicle without encroaching into the second lane or clipping the curb.
I think most people probably do this because they are worried about people merging into their turning lane.
If you're one of those who can't stay in your lane when making that turn (and they do exist), then maybe you should wait it out.
This right here is the real problem. People are such bad drivers that they need two lanes to turn. It's amazing. By the way, almost every car in our building is a sedan/smaller car. I fight this issue EVERY DAY.
Story of my life every morning. I get onto i10 right there off of westcott/washington towards downtown. It is impossible and is almost always completely stopped now. So frustrating. Luckily I only have to ride it to the shepherd exit.
yep. first thing i thought of. don't take for granted that not everybody is the same level driver as you (or that you think you are). the safest way to drive is to assume and accept that they are all dangerous, inept, uncoordinated idiots.
Doesn't make them a bad driver per se. Cautious/overly cautious is another possible reason. Could be worried that somebody in the far lane will switch lanes as they are making the turn. Better safe than sorry?
