That can't be good for Mauri's rep as a GM. We have already heard certain GM's avoid picking the phone calls of others and this would only add a negative against Murray.

GM's need to be respected around the league and get along to get some trades done. Doc is nowhere close to the best GM but he was able to turn a cancer in Stephenson into a productive player in Green.

 

I can't imagine the Pistons being happy with that.

 

You know Thornton would hang more Ls on Detroit and make that pick look better. Would really suck to have to bring him back now.

 

It is possible that Detroit is suddenly getting cold feet because they are playing like crap and the pick is looking good.

If their medical staff declare DMo unfit, can the Rockets appeal and get a second opinion?

 

Or maybe the Pistons are having buyer's remorse and are looking for a way to get out of the deal without looking flaky. With how poorly they've been playing, that pick could easily drop to 11 by EOS. Is a RFA DMo worth the #11 pick to Detroit?

Could this all just be posturing on Detroits part to reduce his RFA price?
ie, similar to Landry's extra knee scope?

I know it is early, but you bring him in, make noises about being unsure because his back is dicey. Then right before free agency, send him to get another back exam, and make sure everyone knows about it again.

Well, at least if the trade is rescinded, we'll have our best PF and highest scorer off the bench around to push us past GS and SA.

 

Bobby Marks means the trade can be modified, but changes must be approved by the Rockets. In other words, Pistons can say "We are going to void this trade, but will accept it with more concessions." Rockets can say, "No, take it or leave it."

Also, voiding the contract/trade requires league approval. Pistons will need to provide proof to the staff Medical Director of the NBA.

 

Err. Would that be something we previously allowed for?
