Upside is great until you have to pay 10+ million to keep waiting for it.

It was time for him to go.

What is tells you is that Jones had no trade value at all.

There were a number of teams really wanting to make deals, but overall few trades materialized.

Yeah, because 25 is so old, he was drafted as a project and showed what he can do last year when given playing time (3rd season, not like it was his 7th season).

DaDakota promised we'd pay $15m+, and many agreed.

Technically, it was his 4th season as a Rocket last year. This yr is his 5th. He was drafted same year as Tobias Harris and Marcus Morris.

You said he was drafted as a project. 1st year in Europe was part of the project, too.

    8th for first year.
    10th for next two.

So, very likely it will cash this year.

We need Detroit to lose. I think they will make it to the playoffs.

It will probably end up being 13 - 16 range.

What the **** did the rockets do today? Traded 2 of our players that could create their own shot? LOL... and we got no physical bodies in return.

I'm honestly so confused. And ****ing sad.

It's sad that we couldn't even get a 2nd round pick for Jones apparently

The Rockets salary dumped to get under the tax. Other players might have had negative trade value and the 2016 pick already traded...

ESPN or whatever news station were convinced that Jones had some value as stretch 4....

He shot fairly well from the 3 (did not take many)

Funny some people keep pointing out that Harden is only 26 and will grow up someday. ;)

Anyway, I have a feeling that the Detroit pick will be flipped as an asset rather than used.

Kinda with ya there. DMO has some major positives but the guy can't seem to stay healthy, he's very inconsistent and was about to be very expensive. I guess Darryl got tired of waiting and just took the draft pick. But it really is irrelevant if the Rox don't get a very strong coach to provide structure to this group. Someone has to LEAD.

Yes but of course they aren't on the same level (I know you know this). DMo hasn't done much except flash post brilliance. His highest scoring game was 26 points I believe. I haven't seen many mention DMo's ridiculous affinity for fouling on defense but he's a liability. He can't protect the rim or guard.
