Blake, Dwight and Love.... We get Blake, Cleveland gets Dwight and Clippers get Love. Unlikely, I realize, but you would be hard pressed to find better value for Dwight if all parties were to agree.
Gotcha. I just thought he'd be an interesting versatile wing pickup who has good potential to be our "Draymond" so to speak. Assuming he would develop of course. Because the odds of getting someone like Durant, Horford or even Conley are slimmer and slimmer.
These "trade Harden for..." posts won't help the Rockets. Harden plays a similar style as Curry. The difference is Curry doesn't have to handle to workload through out the game. The Rockets need to use GS as a model to build around him with guys that can not only hit shots from the outside but also be able to pass he ball effectively. Howard is a dinosaur in the NBA system. It's hard to have a pure center who can't shoot from the outside anymore when other teams have a stretch 5. Clint Capela has a brigher upside on gaining an outside shooting touch and doesn't command the ball down low as much. Our team would be winning games again if Howard would come off the bench and be happy with 20 mins a game of just boarding and playing defense, but that will never happen.
This would be absolutely fantastic. Blake is absolutely another threat offensively who can play with Harden well due to athleticism, but on his own can be a playmaker. He has increased his range with that extremely ugly jumper. His age fits great. Plus if there was any chance we grabbed Durant, a Harden/Durant/Griffin team would be insane. Pick n pop. Pick n roll. Kick outs. Slashing... offensive juggernaut. F it, throw 2 firsts in it. I dont care. Clippers get Love and a 1st, Cleveland gets Howard and a 1st... maybe get a couple of 2nds back, I dont know. Im no gm. (clearly) That would be fantastic.
Thought of something tonight that was intriguing...unlikely but who knows these days. HOU IN: J. Johnson H. Whiteside B. Udrih BKN IN: D. Motiejunas L. Deng C. Andersen MIA IN: D. Howard J. Terry Everyone moving is on expiring deals. It gives Miami a center who will likely be cheaper than Whiteside next offseason and a leader ready to win in Terry. Creates cap space for Brooklyn and gives them first pick at DMo to pair with Lopez. Gives us a young rebound/block first score second center who doesn't refuse to run the P+R and a backup to Ariza who can shoot (and can be shown the door if/when it doesn't work out). With the rumors of Miami being more willing to trade Whiteside lately I'd think involving a third team would be to everyone's advantage - too unrealistic? Some modified form of this maybe?
Lol good luck trying to steal the thief (Morey)...sorry dude but that's a terrible trade for the Rockets.
I agree. It is misleading to say Howard is antiquated. The reality of Morey's design IIRC for the team is high percentage 3's and easy 2's + preventing the other team from doing the same. A dominate big man fulfills 2 of the 4. It is one of the reasons why I believe Morey was able to sell Howard on signing with Houston. Now that being said: Howard has to get the ball in spots where he can score easier. Did anyone see how effective the alley-oops are when a player drives to the basket (Harden, J-Smoove, etc.) and the defense has to respect the driver? Because then Howard is wide open for an easy two. The big man is happy and rewarded and goes out to protect the rim on the other end. It is ROCKET science.
The reality of Morey's design IIRC for the team is high percentage 3's (1) and easy 2's (2)+ preventing the other team from doing the same. (3) A dominate big man fulfills 2 of the 4. Wait... am I missing something here?

I was thinking and even posted about this trade when the news first came out. Honestly, it makes sense for all teams involved. Cavs get a still top 5 center in the league to help shore up their defense and rebounding, who can still turn it on for big games/playoffs and they fix the Love mistake. Clippers get another shooter and natural scorer to work off of Paul. Love's defensive issues would be less seen since DJ is there and now they have both DJ and Love locked up for the next 5 years. A lineup of Paul, Redick, whoever at SF, Love and DJ can be nuclear on offense. Rockets get the best player in the trade, but one that has the most off the court baggage. Harden and Griffin are around the same age and their games are much more compatible so they can, hopefully, grow together and mature up. Griffin then becomes the 2nd playmaker of this team because his playmaking from the PF position won't be marginalized as it would a PG next to Harden. Also, Morey gets to check off another name from the 2009 Draft he is is notoriously infatuated with. But this won't happen because this never happens. Rarely do you ever see two star players traded to respective teams, but three star players? Never.
Aaron Gordon, Kenneth Faried, Ricky Rubio, Markeiff Morris, Lou Will, PJ Tucker. We need dudes to love to play team ball and play defense. Lets go prove everyone wrong. Lets go!! We can do this. This is Clutch City. We dont ever give up.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=jcbagb6 My belief this season is that Ty Lawsons inability to play defense has caused alot of issues with this team. If we unload mr. lawson as an expiring contract to the atlanta hawks with a young asset wing in KJ mcdaniels. For Jeff Teague it would bring a more aggressive version of Ty lawson with better than average defense needed when beverley is sitting. This can solve some issues quicker than we think Hawks acquire Ty Lawson, KJ Mcdaniels, 2nd round pick Rockets acquire Jeff Teague, Mike Scott and Thabo Sefolosha. Then the Rockets will Trade Terrence Jones for a 1st Round pick to a team like the pelicans. Simmilar to the kyle lowry or the omer asik trade. Houston Rockets C Dwight Howard PF Clint Capela, Donatas Motiejunas,Mike Scott SF Ariza, Brewer, Sefolosha SG Harden, Thornton PG Beverley, Teague
