Cleveland, Boston, Atlanta and Philly all have say in what is going down.

From the Rockets perspective, if they get Love or Horford; they have supporting players (Ariza/Bev) that can sway teams. How much does a trio of Howard/Ariza/Bev help a contender? A lot.

If Boston trades for Teague and Horford... You better bet they target Howard.

What if Phil offers Melo for Howard?

All of Melo's percentages are falling hard. His efg is the 3rd lowest it has ever been.

I would flip Howard for him if I can make it a three way and get some young assets/picks from a team that was unwilling to give them up for Dwight.

Just cause he has input doesn't mean his is running the org. Like Harden said - FINAL decisions will be on GM and Owner.

He is the leader of this team, has led this team further than they have been in decades, so yeah I'd say some input is warranted. Like last year, after the GS series when he said that he felt like he needed another playmaker.

As for the Howard thing - we don't know if they talked about Howard after the Portland game. All we know is that Morey, Harden and Howard talked. If they did talk about trading Howard, of course you don't go out and say so - if Howard were to stay post deadline that would just make things worse. And if they didn't talk about Howard specifically, why would Harden say they did. Your guess is as good as mine, until we know for certain what they talked about.

I don't see it happening...Will be a rocket post trade deadline....

Now can Morey do the right thing and resign so a New GM can take over? I've grown tired of him.

It wasn't for Cousins. And don't assume we would have kept the player involved.

So this leader who has input in decisions (if he's a real leader) , now all of a sudden is unaware of the biggest dillema and decision of the team atm, Howard demanding max money? Either Harden lied or he has no input at all to not know this.
And yes we know that at least Morrey and Howard talked about it and if Harden had input he would have known it.

If he lied it's totally understandable for pr reasons, but to pretend he didn't lie it's incredibly naive.

He definitely lied to the media haha. Typical PR spin. He was quoted saying earlier today that he and Dwight had had a serious discussion and were going to go into the All Star break and make it work.

Based on Bobby Marks's estimate of $29.3 million for the 2016 max salary for 10+ year vets (as of last July):

4-year max deal (all but Houston): ~$125 million
4-year max deal (with Houston): ~$130 million
5-year max deal (with Houston): ~$168.5 million

Keep in mind that these numbers could change based on the actual cap numbers determined by early July 2016.

Starting to seem like a misdirection, Morey put Howard's name out to get interest for other players and to prove to Dwight that he's not worth the max. I'll bet Howard is not traded and re signs this summer for less than max money and we make a trade like Lawson to Minny for Martin and Lavine. With KG sitting on the bench muttering death threats to Lawson he returns to borderline allstar form and Lavine is a better off ball pg to run with Harden, Martin is the sixth man off the bench. So we'd get no defense from the two guard position whatsoever but there would be a better flow to the offense. Just spit-balling

I agree that if we want to try and better ourselves for a playoff run, we should definitely look to NOP.

Instead of Holiday, I'd pursue Norris Cole with Lawson because I can't see NOP giving up Jrue for Lawson.

    Jones+Lawson for Anderson+Cole

We get back a legit sharpshooter stretch 4 who'll space the floor and has proven to be able to rack up 20+ points. Cole is a player with championship experience as well as experience playing with ball dominant guys (Lebron, Wade) so he should be able to adapt to playing with Harden. He can do a bit of everything and he's taller then Lawson - less of a liability. Also: both are expiring as well.

NOP get back a young versatile athletic 4 who played with Davis in college (least they could do is get him a buddy to help survive this **** show season and develop with him in the future). He gives them a different look on offense (theoretically can stretch the floor) as well as improvement on defense. Lawson is a mixed bag for them but they'd have to be gambling that he could find his mojo with a fresh start. High risk but higher reward then if they'd stick it with Cole. Plus he's expiring and they can cut bait on him, while having the edge on resigning Jones.

Which doesn't change what I was saying, that sometimes getting nothing back is actually a better deal. It lets you pick the players you want, rather than just taking the players other teams want to get rid of.

Very much appreciate it. Thank you.

Another incentive for a team NOT to trade for Dwight.
They save themselves from paying 43.5 million and not have to deal with Fegan as well.

Meanwile the Offer Morrey made from what Cyber has said, is at best 100 million. (20x5) and could even be 80.
That's 30 less million than Dwight could make for a 4 max in Houston, and 25 less million that he WILL make when a team offers him the max. (BKN).

Very lowball and I dont see any reason why Dwight should accept Morrey's offer.

So at least , next year, best case scenario 25/5 per flat to convince him to stay.

    .....
