That seems like a great way to miss out on all the geniuses out there because they'll likely get better opportunities much more quickly than that.
Rumors of a major National Signing Day coup for Texas. Looks like there is at least some truth to them
Don't get roped in. It's a bunch of kids on Twitter. Who knows what will happen. Most of the kids visiting this weekend are currently committed to other teams which is usual. Chris Daniels decommited from OU 3 days after this visit to texas: http://247sports.com/Player/Chris-Daniels-31899 These are the visits for this weekend: http://247sports.com/Player/Michael-Williams-38809 http://247sports.com/Player/Kyle-Porter-37371 http://247sports.com/Player/Jordan-Elliott-65210 http://247sports.com/Player/Parrish-Cobb-75537 http://247sports.com/Player/Obi-Eboh-53437 (Current Commit) http://247sports.com/Player/Chris-Brown-49466

Fair enough. That's a good point about new coaches. I just don't know what we can really know about Gilbert from his seemingly ambiguous responsibilities as a co-OC who doesn't call the plays. I'm still more puzzled about the OL coach. Wickline certainly seemed to have significant faults, but he must have compensated for them somehow to get the best results of any coach on the team. It's just not that common to have the departure of your best position coach be so celebrated. Regardless, I'm with you - just wait to see it all play out. That's all us fans can do.
You can't be mad at the Rockets drafting Robert Horry if you have no idea how well he plays. You need to let it play out.
Wickline was an extremely polarizing coach. There was a reason 4 players left, and others had no chance of leaving the bench. Other reports call him disengaged, uncaring about work outside of practice and games, among other things. Not to mention he did little recruiting himself and barely knew players' names. Even with the line improvement, there were clear reasons to get rid of Wickline.
Recruiting update: -Strong to meet with Offensive Lineman Patrick Hudson. He's currently committed to Baylor. Texas currently has 4 offensive lineman committed for 2016 http://247sports.com/Player/Patrick-Hudson-29639 Recruiting sites have a lot of predictions for various recruits but it's not even worth going into given how much these kids change their mind.

Nothing too new on the recruiting front. Charlie Strong is making in home visits just about every day. Their is a lot of confidence coming out of the recruiting outlets that Texas is going to be the big winner on signing day but who knows.
DT Jordan Elliott has de-committed from Michigan. Signs point to him coming to Texas http://espn.go.com/college-football...-michigan-wolverines-third-recruit-leave-week
Eric Cuffee commits to Texas. Pretty good CB from Waco. The current commits to the O-line are pretty good and the thought is that they'll pickup a few good D-linemen. Secondary has also been good and can get better. The RB from Katy would be a nice pickup on offense. I wish they were in play for another WR. I feel really good about the offense. They have 5 scholarship QBs competing this spring and a new coordinator who doesn't have any ties to any of them. I also like him and his O-Line coach a lot more than Watson and Wickline when they were hired. The O-line coach has already taken some kids with him. It's really surprising to see so many kids buying into Strong given the current climate. http://247sports.com/Player/Eric-Cuffee-47657
Said the same thing a week ago. The recruiting outlets are nearly unanimous that we are in serious contention for a lot of recruits. I can pretty much guarantee this will surpass last year's successful late push.
Take that with a giant grain of salt. I've been seeing that as well but I haven't been posting it. I felt foolish last year buying into the same thing but at the end of the day it's just a bunch of kids on twitter. A kid could be dead set on texas from birth and then change their mind on the last night because Nick Saban walks into his living room. I totally get it. Kids are kids.
I disagree with you. Last year's recruiting in Texas was wild and out of control; it was swinging by the day up through signing day. With the exception of a couple of recruits (Elliott, who has swung back our way, and Smith), the people we are targeting have stayed pretty consistent with their support of UT down the stretch.
