Everyone is a law abiding citizen until they're not. Another stupid NRA talking point. Like somehow there are killers that get guns and then commit mass murder.

    You're on a roll.

Considering I grew up on the south side (35th and South Union to be exact), and personally know the good people in my family travel to Wisconsin to buy weapons/ammo......

It's pretty well known in the city. If you actually traveled there, not a stop at O'Hare here and there, you might know this. But whatever.

Hint: your demographic and the ones doing the killing likely aren't one and the same.

Yeah, like you know how mar1juana is not recreational in AZ, so I go buy tons of it in Cortez, CO? People would never do that for guns. . . . [IMG]

Actually no. If you actually understood the Chicago/Cook County gun laws, they did not. Not even close.

I still believe the tipping point is far, far away. People become activists when they witness a horrible event like this, or worse yet, lose a loved one to death or permanent maiming by gun.

The NRA must just be in denial about it, but there are more and more activists every day. Since we're averaging more than one shooting per day with 4+ victims, we are really multiplying the number of anti-gun activists. 10 - 20 committed anti-gun-lobby people/family members/survivors created every day. People willing to tell their stories and cover their Facebook pages, etc. with statistics and gun control rhetoric, etc.

If the NRA was smart (yeah, I know) they would come up with some real solutions, other than "more guns." They could protect their sweet, lucrative business and cut down on gun deaths at the same time. But they've started to believe their own crazy "slippery slope" propaganda, as if America will ever be a gun-free totalitarian state.

Anyway, the tipping point will be what % of people directly affected? Given a quarter million gun deaths in the last 30 or so years, that would mean at least a million people with direct knowledge of someone killed by a gun and probably even more witnesses. I would guess when we get to about 3 million such people, one in 100 US citizens, there will be enough mass and will to change things.

The right wing is creaming their pants since one of the guys is Muslim. They can't contain their excitement on twitter. The republican party is a bigger threat to America then ISIS.

...but I was told by the liberal idiots in this thread it was white honkeys at Planned Parenthood! This doesn't fit their convenient narrative!

You should really wait for all of the facts to come out before jumping to any conclusions.

Way to politicize a tragedy, btw.

The post right below yours proves your point. Sad that rather than the horror of this senseless tragedy, they see opportunity and excitement first and foremost out of reading Muslim names.

Thats the problem with this country. Lets try to find someone to blame. There is another mass shooting everyday. Whats the difference between terrorism and some crazy nut. Just more people dying.
