This is a guy who won the MVP last season and got even better this season. I wish I could say the same about our superstar.

All these stats with 2 weeks into the season. Very dumb. At least wait a month and or 2 to have decent data. This is just ridiculous.

Agree. But both Curry and Shaq are bad for basketball. Shaq inspired a generation of players to try to play with brute force. Now with Curry shooting like that, be prepared to see a lot of chuckers coming to the league.

I've already started to see too many Curry wannabes in pick up games;)

This. Drop the 2015-16 stats from the conversation - they're unusable right now. Anyway, most of us are saying the same thing: "I hate his f_ck_ng face and he's probably the best player in the league."

Before all these guys started their careers, Michael Jordan already produced several generations of hero ball players.

We better hope he retires for a season or two like MJ so we can sniff the title

Had this one guy who insisted on dreamshaking all the time . And then before that, everybody tried to do no look passes into the sidelines by imitating Magic. Then before that, it was airballing skyhooks by imitating Kareem....

You need to look no further than his own teammate, Thompson. In the past, he did take bad shot, but only a few her, or there. But now he started taking more and more bad shots, I mean Curry like shots, and his % is down because of that.

For those of you counting at home, that's 213 pts on 123 shots in 194 minutes

How in the world has he not broken the 12 threes in a game by one player record that Kobe and Donyell freaking Marshall still hold?

He had 8 three pointers yesterday (8 for 16) but sat out nearly entire 4th quarter.

If he or his coach cared more about setting records, he probably would have done it multiple times by now.

I was looking at Reggie and Ray Allens career stats and if you look at when they take as many 3's as Curry has the past 4 years, they score about the same rate. Only difference is those guys were doing it in the course of entire games, Curry keeps doing it in 3 quarters or blowing teams out by himself in 1 quarter of 3 point barrages but really the minutes per game difference isn't that much overall.

If you look at when each player took at least 7 3s a game.

Curry with his crazy #'s right now is still only averaging 23.9(8 3pt attempts) on 54.9 eFG% over the past 4 seasons.

    Ray Allen from 01-07 took 7.5 3s a game(1 season under 7) and scored 23.7ppg on 52.3 eFG% throughout those 6 seasons.

Reggie Miller never took over 7 3's a game in his 18 year career(only over 6 once) and never over 16 fga yet he was just around the same scoring pace as Curry and Allen in almost 2 decades of basketball.

Nash's prime numbers are pretty impressive also considering he didn't shoot much either and throw in an 8 year span of averaging 11apg on top of that.

I wonder how much prime Nash and Miller would average if they had Curry and Allen's green light.

If Curry an GSW wants he can average 35 a game with at least 8 made 3's per game

    Dude is that good

Best shooter in the history of the game. Best PG today. Top 3 player in the game today. He will be all time top 5 PG easy and top 20 player overall. Already has MVP and a ring.

I just wish Harden was nearly as good. It sucks but it is what it is

Quantity of shots isn't simply a function of having the "greenlight".

Curry gets most of his shots off the dribble with a lightning quick release. Nash needed more space to get his shot off, and he relied on his passing ability to open up looks for himself. Reggie Miller was a move-off-the-ball, catch-and-shoot player. He was simply more reliant on his team to get shots.

What's sets Curry apart is his ability to get his shot off quickly, without much space, off his own dribble. And his seemingly limitless range. That combination is unique to him.

Curry is the best shooter in the history of the league, but what he's doing is unsustainable. He's not going to keep shooting 57% from the field and 52% from 3s for the entire season.

Hopefully when his shots don't go down, we see him step up his other parts of his game.

Ray Allen was pretty good at creating his own shot too. But Allen was a SG and didn't handle the ball as much as Curry does.

Curry and Allen are probably the best overall shooters we've ever seen so far. They can shoot with high accuracy both off the dribble and by catch-and-shoot. Nash could do that too. But you are right, he is not as quick as these other two.

Most other great shooters in history couldn't create as well as these three guys.
