According to Fox Sports New England. I had a feeling Dre was being shopped, but I was hoping we'd at least be able to not get completely worked over.
Hmmm....so are you going to start the little man at the point? That's an odd trade. Wally can score, no doubt....but is offense really the issue they are trying to solve? Andre Miller is a good floor general. That should warrant a bit more.
Hmm. I'd have to think about this one. Wally makes a little more money. I wanted Wally for the Rockets last summer but, nah. Nuggets4, is this a matter of needing Wally's outside shooting or just getting rid of of Andre Miller for something decent in return?
Well the Nuggets had no three point shooting whatsoever last year. When Greg Buckner is your best three point shooter, your team really has some holes and Wally should be able to help out with that. Still, they need a point guard to really run the show. Miller was decent but he always seemed like more of a scorer than a true point guard. I'm not sure how they plan to replace Miller either.
Sam Smith tried to say there was a possible three-way in the works between Philly-Utah-Boston that would have Iverson going to Boston, Szczerbiak to Utah and Boozer to Philly. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sport...ory?coll=chi-sportsnew-hed&ctrack=1&cset=true
Dear Lord that needs to happen. As for why the Nugs would do this deal if it's true... I've got no idea. We need shooting, but is Wally seriously the best we could do? Boykins, Melo, Wally... notice there's no "D" in any of their names.
I think I'd keep Miller....unless they have plans to get Terry away from resigning with the Mavs. But how do you plan to do that? Otherwise, what other PG prospects are out there to replace him? You can't let Boykins start...can you? That creates a hell of a matchup issue against certain teams. He can't be your everyday point guard. He's great at spot duty for the Nuggets. I am baffled. The rumor Clutch posted has got to be good news.
If it's true, I'd personally wonder if he's being shopped because he's a good chip to bring in needed parts, or if he's being tossed out because George Karl is sour on half the team. I'd think that Camby, Miller, and Melo are the only guys I'd want to hold onto if I'm Denver. Everyone else is dispensible. Kenyon is a major problem on multiple levels that needs to get dumped in the worst possible way, even if it meant bringing back someone like Chris Webber.
Reportedly Melo is the only "untouchable" this off-season. We've heard rumors involving Camby (to Chicago for Chandler & #16) and now Dre. Kenyon's in a lot of rumors right now. It'll be an interesting summer in Denver.
Not to sound racist or anything, but is Sam Smith including Mike Miller into the rumor mill for Utah because he's another white guy that can shoot the three? Because Utah, from the looks of it, needs more than just a 3 point specialist. They need a 20-25 ppg scorer regardless of race.
Apparently Dre fits Ainge's brain type for a good leader. He's been after him for a while. Should have kept Watson. I get the feeling (Seattle is already trying to shop him, apparently cool with Luke "117.6 points given up per 100 possessions" Ridnour") that nobody knows what they have with Watson.
Watson is the kind of PG the Rockets really need. For a point guard, it's amazing the impact he has on the defensive end.
Personally, I really don't think that Wally has the footspeed or ballhandling skills to competantly play SG full time. He'd certainly be an upgrade over Buckner in every offensive category, but I remember his defense being just as bad as 'Melo's. He's also always struck me as a bit of an arrogant jerk. I think the Nuggets would be better off keeping Miller and just trying to get a shooter when they trade KMart (provided they're able to).
I don't understand this at all. Wally World is a small forward. He isn't quick enough to play SG and he isn't tough enough to play PF. Why would the Nuggets trade for a high dollar player who plays the same position as their best player?
Yup. Another example of the team panicking. The whole reason we got Watson was so we could trade Dre. Now we're going to trade Dre anyway? I just want to get rid of Boykins.
If we land Roy, then signing another scorer in Mike James becomes less of a necessity. So Earl Watson is on the block.... Hmm....
I get what you're saying, but Utah has to be really careful who they bring in especially via trade. Not too many players "want" to play for Utah and it would hurt that them more to trade for a player only to have him leave first chance he gets. I can't say that Miller would want to be there, but I'd imagine if they're interested he already expressed that he wouldn't mind playing in that hellhole, erm I mean city.
While on the topic of Denver, how about Kenyon Martin for Boozer, or even a straight up deal for Bonzi Wells? Are there any rumors of K-mart being traded?
Yes and according to KellyDwyer's post above, the Sonics are shopping him. I don't know if we've got anything they want, but maybe they'll go for a salary dump and draft pick. Couldn't hurt to ask.
