It's getting too hectic with all these threads, lets toss out all names which come to mind here and then compare resumes. Here is every name which I have or has come to mind: Jeff Van Gundy J.B Bickerstaff Patrick Ewing Jack Sikma Chris Finch Patrick Ewing Jason Terry Mario Elie Sam Cassell Zan Tabak David Blatt Jeff Hornacek Byron Scott Luke Walton Ettore Messina Ime Udoka Derek Fisher Larry Brown Jerry Sloan Rick Adelman Argue!
I think you're looking for the "little black book of coaches" thread. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=271728&highlight=black+book+coaches
That thread is amazing but somewhat outdated from January. I'll add the resumes and buckets for the candidates I listed as well as college coaches after I get home from work.
Here's my for-dummies take on these coaches: Jeff Van Gundy - pros: disciplined defense, cons: iso offense Chris Finch - pros: Morey friendly cons: Morey friendly Mario Elie - pros: former Rocket cons: unproven Sam Cassell pros: former Rocket cons: unproven David Blatt - pros: playoff experience cons: personality of wet glue Luke Walton - pros: Warriors halo effect cons: is Luke Walton Ettore Messina - pros: excellent resume cons: NBA unproven Rick Adelman - pros: offense, cons: rigid coach, too much 'dog house'
I'd prefer a modern day multi dimensional, versatile, coach. One who can use spreadsheets and advanced analytics, shove a philosophy down the throats, GM, twitter, play ping pong etc I'd prefer an all in one coach
sorry, i prefer the individual threads. it promotes deeper dives on the candidates and also acts a fan pulse for the busier candidate threads.
If we lose JVG to the Lakers because the refs made a wrong call (which cause us a win), I'm going to blame the NBA refs - again!
Derek Fisher.. Really. He's an ass, and avoided Houston like the plague as a player. Besides, he would try to date an ex-wife of one of our players.
