In happier news, congratulations to Lior Eliyahu -- Euroleague player of the month for December: http://www.euroleague.net/news/i/41078/180 Eliyahu put up 3 straight double doubles -- including a big 24-17 performance with 6 assists. His next game is January 8, against the Olympiacos Josh Childresses. Eliyahu is leading Maccabi (which includes Carlos Arroyo) in points and rebounds, and is tied for 2nd in assists. Overall, averaging 15-7 on 68% FG% in 26 minutes a game. For reference, Josh Childress is averaging 10-5 in 26 minutes. And Loren Woods is averaging 12-9 in 31 minutes. Do we have a new DaDakota object of affection? [Unrelated sidebar] The legendary Mirsad Turkcan is averaging 14-9 in 28 minutes. In 1998, we drafted 4 players: Michael Dickerson, Bryce Drew, Mirsad Turkcan, and Cuttino Mobley. Mobley and Dickerson sadly retired prematurely due to injuries, and Drew retired due to lack of talent and is now coaching back at Valpo. Who would have thought Turkcan would be the last man standing of that group? [/Unrelated sidebar]
Not me. Never saw him as more than an end-of-the-bench guy in the NBA, but it's good to see him carve a 10-year-plus playing career nonetheless.
i like this player when i saw him a few years back on the summer league team. Even then i was wondering why he would not get an opporunity to be on the team. I surely think we should bring him on over some time soon. He is good.
