    Hello, Clutchfans!

Long time lurker and fan here. I grew up in LA county idolizing the Rockets since the mid 90s. It's tough being the only Rockets fan among your peers, but you know what? My blood bleeds red, not purple and yellow. I must say that with our off-season acquisitions, I've never been more excited to watch the Rockets! Anyway, what are your projected stats for the starting 5 this season? Here's mine:

Jeremy Lin: 15 ppg, 7.5 assists, 4 rebounds, 1.5 steals
James Harden: 25 ppg, 5.5 assists, 5 rebounds, 1.5 steals
Chandler Parsons: 13 ppg, 6 rebounds, 1 steal
Patrick Patterson: 10 ppg, 5 rebounds
Omer Asik: 8.5 ppg, 10 rebounds, 2.3 blocks

Sorry, if there's already another thread similar to this one. If there is one, please link me to it and I'll close this one!

    no bad.

Lin will average at least 2 steals a game; likely more
you're pretty spot on with Harden
    Parsons is spot on
if Pat averages 10/5, I hope he's not starting by the end of the year.
    Insert T Jones: 12/7 with 1 block
    Asik: 9.5 ppg, 11 rebs, 2 blocks

    Some perspective on these stats:

    ASSISTS:
Only seven players in the league averaged 8 or more assists per game. Only two averaged more than 10. Lin had 8.25 assists/36 min. Harden had 4.2 assists/36 min though obviously in a reduced role.

    REBOUNDS:
Only eight guys in the league averaged 10 rebounds or more. Asik had nearly 13 rebounds per 36 mins last season.

    STEALS:
Steals leader Chris Paul had 2.53 steals per game. Only three players in the league averaged more than 2 steals per game. Lin stole the ball at a rate of 2.1 steals/36 min last season.

    TURNOVERS:
No one in the league averaged 4 or more turnovers except for Deron Williams. Lin averaged 3.6 topg last season.

Lol. Thanks for the perspective. A lot of people are tossing out a lot of arbitrary numbers.

Thanks for the stats, King Boo! What's interesting is that only Ricky Rubio and Chris Paul averaged 8 assists and 2 steals or more last season. Although it's unlikely that Jeremy Lin will be able to accomplish this feat, that's not to say that it's impossible. I imagine the Rockets will be involved in a lot of pick and roll/run and gun action, so he'll be able to rack in lots of points. And I imagine he's a better defender now than he was last season. I would say that he's got a much better chance of getting 8 assists than 2 steals.

After 7 games, it looks like my projected stats are very similar to the actual stats with the exception of Jeremy Lin. He's been a bit disappointing on the offensive end, not being as aggressive as how he was last season. Maybe he's still not 100% healthy? Asik has been a big surprise thus far for me. He shows that he's a force to be reckon with inside the paint.

    Lin 11.8, 6.4, 4.5 rebounds, 2.4 steals
    Harden 25.8 ppg, 4.5 assists, 4.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals
    Parsons 12.3 ppg, 5.8 rebounds, 1.1 steals
    Patterson 11 ppg, 5.5 rebounds
    Asik 9.8 ppg, 13 rebounds, 1.1 blocks

Lin's shot still seems off (which reduces his ppg), and his teammates are having trouble finishing and shooting 3's (which reduces his assists). I expect both to improve over the season so something like 15ppg/8 assists should be attainable.

Harden had two unsustainable games, then has come down, but instead of continuing to come down, I expect him to improve, so I expect him to stay around 26ppg/4assists.

Parsons continue to improve. As Harden/Lin continue to draw attention away he will continue to get open perimeter shots. I expect him to end up around 15ppg.

Patterson will either improve, or be replaced by Morris/TJones so I can't predict his ppg.

Asik keeps working on his offense and we're continually seeing improvement. He could end up around 15ppg/13 rebounds. I don't think his 13 rebounds/game is a fluke so I don't see that coming down. If he can make 15/13 he'll be in Marc Gasol territory.
