How about moving “heaven and earth” to get Cousins. He will be cheaper due to injury history and is one of the few centers who knocks down threes and doesn’t get pushed around. Trade Capela for Love and you have a MDA team who can hit threes and rebound. Lineup: Paul Harden Tucker Love Cousins Gordon (6th man) That is championship material.
We definitely need a C who can hit the 3 but not get abused when the other team isolates him on the perimeter. There are no big men who wouldn't get abused by Curry on the perimeter, so that's fine if they can't do that as long as they can be better than most. The irony is that the perfect player is Clint Capela with a 3pt shot, but we're a couple of years away from that.
For all those who are saying to trade Capela for Love (in this thread and others) …. I just want to know if you watched a single Cav's game last year ? If the answer is yes , Was it one of the 22 games Love played in ? Do you realize he makes $9m+ more than Capela yearly ? …. That much closer to the tax. Hate to break it to you all but he isn't remotely close to the player he was in Minny …. He's damaged goods. He'd get abused defensively - probably unplayable in the playoffs. We need bigger wing players. At different times, MDA had 5 damn guards on the floor at one time. You have to be able to play above the Rim in the NBA. I like Tucker, but he can't jump over a credit card. Then your playing Paul, Harden, Rivers, Gordon with him it's gets hard to get rebounds or to contest shots.
