We're likely only going to be able to afford two of Correa, Altuve, and Springer, and think Springer will lose out because of the presence of Tucker.
But given Springer's age... and the possible deflated market in response to that... he may end up being not only the most affordable, but the most productive based on $/WAR. He's going to fall into the Lorenzo Cain, Evan Longoria class... good to great guys, but non-super-duper stars, that still make a big difference.
It's going to be an exciting day when he makes his major league debut. I remember the excitement with Correa and Bregman, so it's going to be fun with Tucker. If he tears up the minor leagues the first half of the season, then it will be hard to keep him down.
I think we’re are in a correction. Contracts are going to be more reasonable. It gets to the point that owners realized, they aren’t buying titles, they got to build teams within and only afterwards, get a missing piece in free agency.
I don't think we know that for sure yet. This was a somewhat weak free agent market. Next year will be telling when Harper, Machado, Kershaw, Donaldson, Kimbrel, and Blackmon can all be free agents.
Tucker looked good again today in the batter's box. That play in RF, I almost had a heart attack when the 2nd baseman almost took his legs out. We're still early, but as a hitter he's certainly passing the eye test.
Such challenging problems to have. Talented, excellent depth at most every position...with more on the way. Really, really sucks.
Have you watched Stassi enough to form an opinion, if so what would it be? Thanks, I'll hang up and listen
If Fisher can bring his "A" game to the batter box, I'd be happy to let Ted mature in the minors. However, Tucker is making a case to move on up. I doubt Luhnow will make the move out of Spring Training because they'll want to keep him under control longer, but Ted appears to be making his case with each at bat.
I would say no in that with we need to be careful with arbitration dates. We have enough talent in the big squad to win again. Why speed up someone’s clock to only get a marginal improvement. Feel the same on Forrest “speedy” Whitley
