No to Markieff. Totally cool with Marcus. I can't wait for the draft! I would love to see the Rockets move up somehow to make a bigger splash but still excited about the 2 first round picks and early second rounder.
He looks like a hardworking player so im cool with him...if I recall didint morey say he was goin to draft a small forward with one of our first round picks? I wonder if he is even gona attempt to draft a big?
Marcus Morris is a PF. He has great range and can get on fire at points. He also isn't too shabby in the post. I wouldn't mind drafting another PF if we have plans to trade Scola for an expiring. I love Scola but his D is severely leaving something to be desired. We would be set for years at the PF position with Patterson and Morris like we are with Lowry and Dragic at the PG position. Address the center position through free agency or just wait for something bigger. You know that one guy in Orlando..
Thanks for posting. Interesting that Amick mentioned Rockets having interest in Vucevic. I am getting the "Patrick Patterson feeling" about this guy. Last year, I found myself with feeling like Patterson is the kind of guy that the Rockets front office would like more than any other front office would because there was not good reason not to think the guy would be good. I'm getting the same kind of feeling about Vucevic.
Maybe too slow in his moves? 2 videos about Moti: <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/7uvJ5rTjsNA?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5iXriHvJ8fI?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> The physical change in just a few months is very significant.
This video kinda makes him seem like a younger Brad Miller. I'd really want to see someone with athleticism at our Center position though to protect the rim.
The thing is, a young Brad Miller WOULD have the athleticism able to protect the rim at the Center position. That's the whole point about being able to sign him on the cheap when he's already finished athletics-wise. If only we could get these re-treads when they actually still had anything left in their body to wear away.
test I wish the organization would just pick two legite 7 footers and go from there in this years draft.
I think we need to be doing everything we can to move up and grab Jonas Valanciunas. I see this guy as the most talented big man in the draft. When you watch this guy play, the first thing that jumps out at you is how quick his feet are. Big men with quick feet are a rarity. The guy is super athletic. Another thing that jumps out is his rebounding. This kid is a natural rebounder and he's not scared of contact. He'll get half his points on tip-ins alone. Also, he's not a bad defender. While he needs some improvement, the effort is there and he's got the feet to stay with athletic big men. Add his height and wing-span, and there is really no reason to think he can't be a dominant center in the NBA. Also, he's only 19, so there's even more room for growth. I really like this kid. By all accounts he's a hard worker, and the measureables and skill-set are already there. This is who the Rockets need to be doubling down on. We'd likely have to move into the #4 pick to be assured of getting him, but I think he's worth it. Get er done Morey!
Kyle Lowry seems to be reporting that the Rockets front office are pulling some late, sleepless nights: http://twitter.com/#!/Klow7/status/81208325718556673
