Ellington set a Miami Heat record with 227 three-pointers (on impressive 39.2% shooting) last season.
I have to imagine they won't move him without getting out of the luxury tax. So it would have to be a 3 way of some sort. Miami is 6.269 mill over the lux tax, Ellington makes 6.270 mill. That leaves the Kings, or some team that has a large enough TPE.
Yeah, the Heat are in as much of a luxury tax bind as we are; and they have Winslow’s extension kicking in next year, too. Right now Sacramento is every other team’s new best friend: “Vlade! Heeeeeey, buddy! [click] Hello? Hello?......Is this a fake hang up?...F****R!”
Ellington would be nice on the Rockets because he can definitely hit those long range shots. But for 6.2 million, maybe too much for us to make a move for him.
I prefer House as well because I feel like he is a known commodity. They know he fits and where his strengths are. Hopefully Ellington is bought out and it pushes House to sign his contract.
??? LOLOL Wayne Ellington is a better player than house. Its not close. Great 3s and Steals wing for the bench.
This season House has posted better stats than Ellington’s career averages. House is also 6’7” compared to Ellington at 6’5”. House’s additional size and length allow him to guard multiple positions. House is a better fit for the Rockets at this point bc the Rockets already hav 4 guards in Harden, CP3, Gordon and Rivers. If they’re all healthy.
I dont think you realize how much better he is than gerald green at everything. He fits like a glove with what we do. He set a record for 3s made off the bench last season and is a good defender. You turn down ellington over effin danuel house? because of 2 inches of height? you kidding me? Its not an indictment on him for how he is being played this year. Miami is playing a dumb 11 man rotation to their own detriment. They have a huge log jam at the wing and dion waiters just came back to make it worse.
This guy's overall FG% is lower than his 3 pt FG%. Overall FG% = 36% this year. What is he doing? Bricking his layups?
I like Ellington in general, but he is not a good defender. House is a better defender. We need defense more than offense at the moment.
