No thanks. Just another version of Lou Will who's going to get paid stupid money. Rather have Paul, or just an expiring player/cap space.
the good news is that even though we won't have a chance in hell of getting kemba, we still have kimbo's stunt double
Well for starters we have 3 reliable guards already, plus probably Rivers coming back. Kemba also already said he’s going back to the Hornets and won’t even take the full max
Why would a start point guard want to come to Rockets when Harden will be handling the ball 80% of the time?
The Rockets don't need another unproven player in the playoffs, they need a guy with a ring or at least Finals experience. Harden has been to the Finals before and I would bet getting him back there may push him to be a tough-nosed player in crunch time (he just has a hard time against the Warriors and mentally getting passed them). Paul was a great pickup for that toughness but he has never been to the Finals himself. Ariza was a good addition for all of those years to help settle down this team when in trouble but that wasn't enough. It was not a coincidence that Toronto won with Kawhi, but to also have Danny Green and Ibaka (guys who have been to the Finals and won before) is a major plus in getting through tough games. I like PJ Tucker, Gordon, Paul and Capela but I would sacrafice any one or even two of those players for a guy that can slide into one of those starting roles with Finals and possibly championship experience. Someone who was instrumental in winning the big games (not just an afterthought). Who knows who that could be at the right price. Of course Kyrie would be a perfect fit here and I would take him over Paul in a heartbeat (age and experience) but there is no way that is happening. And even if Houston could rid themselves of Paul and sign Kyrie straight up, there's not a chance he would want to take a backseat again as that is the reason he wanted to leave Lebron and the Cavs in the first place. I think the only way Houston wins a ring in the next few years is if they somehow get Klay Thompson or Kawhi, but that will also never happen. Curry is staying put, Durant (when he comes back) may not be the same top 5 player who knows (and he will stay with the Warriors next year anyhow with his player option) and after that probably going East. LeBron is in LA to finish his career and Kyrie I already covered. It's fun to think about though. Harden, Kawhi, Tucker, Capela (or filler) and Gordon
Kemba has made it known he is happy in Charlotte, and Jordan would rather flirt with making a playoff appearance than do the right thing and blow up the Hornets and get the assets back that would give them a chance at winning someday.
he sure would fit since all we do these days is run ISO plays but paying a borderline all-star the max is just stupid, just like paying cp3 the supermax was stupid
Highly unlikely Paul and picks to third team, let them offer. Not enough young players rookie to offer.
So we should sign both then. Kemba and butler , **** cap space, who else is rumored to go to the lakers?
