I love Ego but he was the main reason rockets lost last night. He fumbled the ball away driving the lane and made couple of terrible passes in the 4th qtr and became a brick machine the 2nd half. Don’t understand why Green wasn’t in there in crunch time when he was on fire the whole game.
Ariza used to be the designated inbounder. I thought they at least would have someone taller than Gordon.
Gordon has shown time and time again when it really matters he can't be counted on. I feel Rivers should take his place in crunch time. Rivers is not a world beater but I trust him out there more than Gordon as a ball handler, his defense and hitting a big shot.
The key to a championship is trading Eric Gordon and Clint Capela this summer after our season ends with a loss. Since we have clearly proven that we can't properly identify and sign low-salary free agent role players that will actually help us win a championship, we'll have to try our hand again at trading for them.
i'm an unapologetic Ego hater. His game is WAY to streaky to be reliant on him as our 3rd scorer. His defense has also trailed off big time since his first season with us. He used to be a + defender but now gives nothing on that side of the ball. Makes me wonder if we'd be a better squad with Lou Williams..
We got a taste of playoff Gordon last night. I mean just look at his playoff stats on basketball reference. He gets worse.
Green had just sat down in the 4th after bricking 2 3s thinking he was in god-mode. Starters came in to what we thought would help stop the bleeding. But nope. EG is responsible for what he did with the ball last night in the 4th. But there's one person missing from this picture that is more culpable - Harden. Fresh legs and all, he only had one half-baked attempt at driving to the bucket. All other plays, he strongly deferred to CP or EG. The way CP was playing, it seemed as though he wanted Harden to initiate. He didn't want to, so it led to dumping it to EG to initiate. I don't fault EG's two missed 3s as much as him not making the right basketball plays. However, our season this year has been 100% Harden. He's carried us and pushed us over the top. In times like that where the lead is blowing away, he needs to be the one to take it to them. I don't buy that it was fatigue. It was 4 very full minutes of wasted basketball with Harden and EG on the floor. And just to be clear, we're talking about when the lead was slipping away. When he got to the line at the end, it was too late. The keys to our playoff success will and always be Harden #1 and the rest #2.
If you want the best out of Gordon, play him as a sixth man and lower his minutes, he usually is good when fresh and crap when fatigued. DD
He’s shooting 41% on 9 attempts per game from 3 since his return from injury.(36 games) 2 days ago he was 8-13 Y’all are crazy.
