All of you ignore that Joe shoots threes all day.
More than 50% of his shots and that he’s been consistently doing this in Summer league and g league

There’s been lots of excuses here and bad analogies to Clint Cepela

Clint is not a three point shooter period.

The better comparison is D Mo.

    I
what sucks is he should be in the G league developing and that extra roster spot should be used for a veteran.
Look at Gerald Green. Good for the roster

Qi started at center for the first time as a Viper tonight 1/4/18. Much more comfortable. 10-13 from field. Two nice athletic blocks. Here are the highlights.

People who think he can’t play are crazy.

He can play , but he's at least a year away .

Yes , he has some skills . Yes , he's got a good feel for the game .

But his body is not ready for the NBA . WAY too weak to play center . Too slow to play PF.

The upside is there ; but it will be limited based on his athleticism and strength . If he can add muscle ,add explosiveness while keeping fluidity .... He will be a very good player . But right now he is a tweener without the body and his skills aren't good enough to make up for that .

He's not too slow to play PF. His quickness is his forte.

Bench Ryno, and start PJ at the 4. Bring Zhou off the bench with the second unit.

Now I like the way he was used in that game so if he comes back up then he needs to be used the same way

I don’t think he’s a center in the long run, but you have to start with the skills that a player has and expand from there. Otherwise, they are playing out of position and will be hopelessly frustrated.

All the critique that he’s not ready makes sense, but if he’s going to play he might as well log some minutes at the 5 for now. As long as he doesn’t get hurt, I don’t see why some exposure at the 5 is a big deal.

Hollic is like DD. Whichever player he loves is cursed to a mediocre career.

I rather have him build up strength while getting at least SOME minutes. His rim protection alone makes him at least as effective as Ryno out there. I don't see much downside of giving him 10 minutes of Ryno's PT against second units.

Young guys like Zhou tend to rack up fouls and make mistakes. But I agree, Houston should use this opportunity without Harden to give him some run.

Guys like Black are not realistically long-term pieces at all. No need to give him those 5 - 10 mins.
