Seriously if these are the people who can vote for the MVP...........

then I dont know does that say more into how little the NBA truly cares about the award or am I just talking crazy.

I am glad you broke out the Harden "third place" votes. Those are the ones that are the MOST telling with Beadle and Andrew Sharp the Harden haters leading the way.

Feigen removed himself from the voting. Watkins, the then ESPN blog beat writer was on the list. But he no longer is at ESPN. Not sure if there will be a Houston media rep this year.

We had Calvin Watkins, who did vote for Harden to his credit.

42 out of 100 voters are from ESPN or Turner. Harden got first from 8 of those voters.

That shitty reporter from China, Shen Yang, actually polled on who she should vote for MVP last year on Weibo, which is twitter in China. After the poll result showed Harden had a clear favor, she regretted and voted for Westbrook. As a compensation, she voted Eric Gordon to be in nba all defensive first team. What a joke.

The obsession of our organization and fanbase over regular season accolades is kind of embarrassing and it makes us look second rate. The focus of the team should be squarely on team success and (at this stage) particularly success in the playoffs -- not individual awards and regular season records.

Westbrook won an MVP after averaging a triple double and leading the league in scoring on a mediocre playoff team. Whoopty f'ing doo. The significance of that fact just pales in comparison to the fact that we were eliminated in the playoffs, at home, against a team who's two top players weren't even playing. And yet we're still talking about it several months later, like it matters. Good grief.

Here's some solace for you all who care so much about this stuff. If Harden won the MVP last year and still flamed out of the playoffs -- his MVP would have been tarnished AND his chances of winning an MVP this year would be significantly reduced.

Beadle has her job (and therefore a vote) because she's a pretty face who likes the Spurs and ESPN doesn't like offering anything more cerebral or hard hitting than highlight roles or simple stats that the mass consumer and 14 year old boys can understand. It's especially bad in the NBA because out of the big four it probably has the highest ratio of casual people who follow the league to diehards; you either love it or just catch the stats on sports center. Hence people just repeat what they hear ad nauseam

"Harden doesn't have the attitude of a winner and doesn't play hard"

"LeBron will go to the Knicks or Lakers"

"Westbrook's triple doubles are more impressive because he has no help other than two superstars and a great center!" Which they same how hold in conjunction with "KD had no help in OKC".

"Kawhi is the MVP because Tim Duncan was and we need to keep up the Spurs narrative...or else fans will get confused."

Bullshit. It's all bullshit and Harden will get snubbed for playing next to Chris Paul. And even if he does win all the media coverage will be on OKC, GSW, LeBron, and Kawhi. They'll ask Steph Curry in the conference finals against Houston how he would feel about playing against Kawhi. Or what it be like to match up against Westbrook. If the finals end up being like Houston-boston they'll do all these what ifs "what if it was GSW and Boston? What if it was LeBron v. Harden? Will LeBron sign with Golden State and will that be enough to put over the top? How will Harden winning a ring affect Kawhi Leonard?"
