Yeah, 7 guys have a ratio of 1:1 or better. Of the 238 guys with 150+ PAs, Bregman is 3rd, Brantley 12, Altuve 25, Reddick 39, Chirinos 52, Springer 59, Yuli 98, and Correa 139. Yordan's AAA ratio would put him 23rd. If you drop it down to 100 PA, Kemp's 46, Diaz 76, White 153, and Jake 296 of 314
I was looking at center fielder's only. Still, his numbers show that he has become pretty disciplined for a power hitter.
I will say that's pretty cool. We hear sh!tty stories between players and fans when it comes to important milestones.
Honestly that’s pretty much exactly how the GARM reads right now. Fan opinions, including mine, are generally dumb as ****.
Eerily similar in many ways. Reliever who did basically nothing for the team that acquired him, for a heavy-hitting slugger that just dominates.
My dudes, consider this lineup: George Springer CF Alex Bregman 3B Jose Altuve 2B Michael Brantley LF Carlos Correa SS Yordan Alvarez 1B Kyle Tucker DH Josh Reddick RF Robinson Chirinos C CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER
Anderson was exactly what the Sox expected when they traded for him. He was great, and it's quite possible they don't make the playoffs without him.
I know, but what I meant to say was, it was still very one-sided because he was only a rental. Not sure what happened, but didn't they non-tender him after failing to strike a deal to avoid arbitration? Basically, Anderson was good for Boston but was only a rental and they didn't win a WS, while Fields was not a rental but terrible. My point being, Astros get a really good power hitter they get to have for a good while, and give up a reliever that they don't miss very much (Astros don't return to playoffs until after Larry retires), and end up winning a lopsided deal.
Yordan has great opposite field power, but can he turn on velocity up and in? Just don't want him to turn into another Jayson Heyward with a big hole in his swing.
Gentle reminder that Singleton also had a mammoth HR is his first game. I hope for the best for Alvarez. He seems like he could be special. But he has a *lot* of learning to do. That said, he’s quite lucky to be in the clubhouse he’s in. I suspect he’ll be able to grow a lot more as a player with the vets around him, as opposed to if he were playing in BAL right now, or even HOU when Singleton hit the bigs. Patience will be key but boy is he is an exciting specimen.
