    that's cold blooded, AMIGO.

If we're in win mode now, like I hear everyone saying, things are going to have to change fast.

This offseason when Harden says he's gonna work on his defense he better mean it. Otherwise we may have to call it in, "Houston we have a DUD"

    this thread is offensive.

I have been assured that Harden will defend if he is limited to 30 min/game

I can't lie, I'm watching this Spurs vs Portland series. It's crazy how much Spurs are swarming around and running their shooters off the line. If our team even had a defense bone in their body, we would be..so..so.. much better.

It all starts with the coach. When you have a clueless incompetent coach like McHale who has zero authority and seems to just let the players do what they want, invariably ****ty defense happens.

Dwight is good on defense. As are Asik and Beverley.

Lin and Parsons lack lateral quickness. Some of the other guys lack experience. You can work around these guys by bringing in better defenders to play instead of them or alongside them. You can trade them away.

But you can't have one of your top 2 guys, one that you rely on for heavy minutes and one that you can't easily replace either with someone from the bench or even a new roster addition, not even paying attention on defense and hope to have a top defensive team. Just difficult to solve this problem.

Defense is a 5 man job. You can cover for one or even several slow footed/undersized/unathletic defender and still do a very good job on D (Scola was not a talented defender but the team managed to have a top defense with him playing, same goes with guys like Hedo and Redick in Orlando) but you can't have even one guy who doesn't pay attention at all.

Yo Harden you should have sex with one of your teammate's wives like Tony Parker.

Look how he's showing up for the playoffs.

    This.

If defense is not expected then it won't even be attempted.

You think Pop would allow Hardens lack of effort. That is all that is needed. We are not asking Harden to be All-NBA on defense, but to at least pay attention to his man and stay on him. James seems to have ADD on defense, and a quality coach would not allow it.

Pop would be in his @$$ much like James seems to be in the OPs pic.

Check out the blistering DefRtg by the Spurs staring 5 against Portland

edit: also note the ridiculous OffRtg by the bench! This has been a total team effort

our team can't wait for the next offensive possession to try and score so they just welcome the other team to the rim. Well Dwight doesn't. but certainly the rest of the team's effort is lacking. Swarming D doesn't exist here.

Random question, were the rockets a better defensive team last year?

This is what a real team looks like. NOw if you want to compare it to the other spectrum of a team that is centered around stars - the Heat also are a mentally well prepared to that is ready to play defense and know how to turn it up. Those guys are locked in man. But this is an unfair comparison considering both the spurs and heat have been together for awhile know and the heat have wade and lebron who are superstars who have won a ring.

I'm rooting for the Spurs to win it all. That's an organization that puts the team first and it's really admirable to watch. I love how they all play. They might not have the names like Heat, Clippers or OKC, but even with relatively unknowns, they are still the best team in the league. I wish the Rockets were like the Spurs in that regard. 100% team ball.

Are you freakin kidding me? We're the antithesis of the Spurs. We are ISO ball, selfish, ego driven, lazy on defence and terribly coached. As Dwight said, "We have to have better TEAMWORK"

Gosh, Harden can be so quiet sometimes. Who knew he'd be into something like this. Btw, is this after the playoffs?
