Forget about Rubio, just go after John Wall.

This is worse news than our typical midseason "Yao broke foot" news. If this is true, trade Yao, Tracy, and everyone that has been in the league for more than 4 or 5 seasons and attempt to rebuild. No reason to resign Ron if Yao is down for good.

Yao ming is 7-6 320. We all had to realize that a guy this big is going to have foot problems. Even if we comes back it is just a matter of time until he breaks it again. We should have traded when we could, but it is all about the cash cow. We need to clear out all the cap space we can and hope to sign someone in 10.

Sometimes I get the impression you want Morey to make moves for the sake of making moves.

Let's see, Rox two "rumored" targets thus far:

    A starting C
    &
A young PG who will need years to develop

One could replace Yao next year and keep this team in the title race, the other is a project meant to be great for years to come.

Great more than 45$ millions not playing next year. Even if assurance pays for it, both salaries will still count for the luxury tax.

    Good luck Morey

I have my doubts. This reporter did not base his argument on facts. Yes, Yao could be done. But the reporter could be hit by a bus today too.

Even if Yao IS done, I still wouldn't want Amare's no defense, selfish arse on this team. I'd go after Rubio with everything and build around that.

Fully agreed. Re-sign a 30 year old guy (to whatever he wants!) on a team that will be lucky to make the playoffs so that we can sell tickets.

He cited a General Manager as one of his sources.

I agree dude, I think Yao will retire if he's out for more than one year ... he comes of the books in 2010 and so is T-Mac. But I think they will trade McGrady before the deadline anyway ... 2010 we will have a lot of cash!
    Bosh + Wade?

Fist thing I thought when someone told m. Yahoo or BSPN. Yahoo I think is way more credible now than espn.

    My reaction?

Of course I'm speculative about this. One, there are no inklings of this anywhere else on the web. Two, Yahoo! is the one to break the news? I have a high suspicion of that. Three, nothing in the piece itself seems certain. Yao's injury hasn't healed and he's gonna go to three specialists. Thats pretty much all he offers as fact. That seems routine. I don't know.

Like everyone on this board, I hope it isn't true.

If this is true (and it probably is), no one on this board should be surprised. After he broke his foot in the playoffs, we all had to know it was more than bad luck....
