Yep, I am a lot less mad about them not getting Carter and Jefferson if they knew Yao was potentially done.

we've shown we can win without yao AND tmac against the best team out there. there's no reason to panic. yes yao was/is our franchise player but the inevitable has happened/is going to happen. we still have some young talent. rebuilding won't be as bad as you think it is. we just have a HUGE hole to fill in the middle :(

I'm hesitant to believe this until the Rockets actually say something or confirm it.

Dump Yao Immediately. Team First, Individuals last. Remember the FRONT of the jersey says ROCKETS not Yao Ming.

    Flame away YAF's.

I do not believe this article is true. Stop the knee-jerk reactions. It is WAY too early to call his career over, as this article indicates.

Very pre-mature, but if this is true... the Yao/T-Mac era is officially over.

    God damnit.

How might this news impact our ability to sign a free agent this summer?

It all make sense now. This is why the Rockets are are being mentioned in moves to acquire big name players. They will need some good Pr to counteract the negative press that will be associated with Yao being out.

Adrian Wojnarowski has some credibility, though. I think its real. But even if the fears are overblown in this circumstance, this is always going to be a distinct possibility. The Rockets would be damn fools to give him a max contract after next season.
