Great article. I think if I post the tweet here with the link this should be accessible behind the paywall. If not I can try and post the text at least.

Me too. The man is busting his ass harder than anyone I’ve seen in a long time. He has inserted himself into stat sheets of all time greats. He has forced his way into the MVP conversation year after year. He’s humble about it. He stays out of politics. He stays out of the media circus. He doesn’t bitch about coaches or teammates. He just balls on the court and torches everyone who tries to stop him. He’s a perfect role model for how to be a professional. He reminds me of Dirk and Duncan in that way.

I want to see a guy like him win it all!

didn't work. often does if clicked through the writers tweet promotion. I even went to twitter, followed him, and clicked directly from his feed.

Thx!!! it's probably not always true. It seems sometimes WSJ, NYT, Forbes, etc will do paywall-only access on a article-by-article basis, even independent of using up free visits for a month.

fwiw: since you like to post articles a lot, I have a trick I use to test. I have multiple browsers. Broswer don't share login info between each other. So, if you never use IE/Edge or Firefox or -- if you really want a good testing too -- the Tor browser, just be your own ginnea-pig prior to posting here.

Test whether an unknown user in another browser gets the full article.

It's funny that he keeps quoting 1.16 and then later concedes it's only 1.09 (still excellent). Which is it, my dude?

Anyway, we all know Harden is doing something that hasn't been ever done. The blind haters will eventually either see it too, or die of hypertension from their irrational rage. Either way, we will be vindicated.

Another workaround for apple users: make sure you have the newest ios version and sign up for News+ in the Apple News app. It's $10 a month but the first month is free. You can access WSJ in the app and the article is in the Life & Arts section.

No, but by now he should be. It's okay to take shots at the things Harden does poorly, like defending quick guards on the perimeter. But to completely overlook the things he does better than most on defense is either being ignorant or being a hater.

    1. I agree "he is not known for his defensive expertise" but that's only because major media outlets keep perpetuating this myth!
    2. How is the opinion of others a limit to his game? I think that's a limitation of those who can't appreciate his game.

    Otherwise I loved the article.

in fairness however, the claim "He is not known for his defensive expertise" is a statement of fact. Meaning he "is not known for" . . . i.e., that is the widespread perception and/or that is his reputation. That statement is hard to deny: the widespread perception of Harden as a bad defender continues to plague him.

Just edited mine before seeing this.

I'd argue that "he is not known for his defensive expertise" exactly because articles like this keep ignoring his defensive expertise and perpetuating the myth.
