WSJ had a front page article that had some blurbs on the current Houston Comcast situation. I'll post the blurbs related to Houston, but I don't know the policy on posting the entire article as it's only available via a paid subscription. If I learn otherwise, I'll post it in a reply in this page.

Sounds like Mr. Nathanson has never heard of HBO GO.

this has to get done eventually at least with U-verse. If they are willing to pay for a pointless channel like the Longhorn Network why can't they thumb over a few bucks for the Astros and Rockets? They need to get this done.

Said it before 1,000 times here..so I'm sure you're all sick of hearing it....

but this is Comcast's war. Houston is just the current battleground. The Astros and Rockets are along for the ride. They made their bed when they partnered up with Comcast. Time will tell if it was a good decision or not.

Wonder how much of an effect on per customer pricing the FoxSports1 launch will have?
If they are only asking for a dollar per vs the 3.40 per Comcast wants the providers are just going to use that rate as proof that sports networks arent worth the kind of money CSN is asking.

Im seriously leaning towards giving in and getting basic cable again, I cant take another season of online streams and downloading the games the next day to get my fix. I cant and wont NOT watch, I feel for you guys who just suffered through it instead of going through the lengths I did to make sure I didnt miss a game.

Besides, I felt like going back to doing highlight videos this past year, but for obvious reasons I couldn't. :(

The difference between fox sports 1 and csn Houston is one is a national network while the other is a regional sports network.

Not sure what cable companies pay for Disney sports.

Why doesn't everyone get League Pass?

I think it's a fantastic service. I watch every game as many times as I like and wherever I travel around the world.

League Pass is blacked out in Houston as well.

Your status with this issue has nothing to do with how it is for us, we can not get it unless we get Comcast.....period.

A couple of BBS members detailed last season how they were able to mask their IP address via a proxy server and avoid the local blackouts. I'm seriously considering that if Uverse doesn't pick up the station. It'd be less of a pain than switching to Comcast IMO.

We are not all fortunate enough to be millionaire playboys gallivanting across the globe like Tony Stark watching Rockets games all willy nilly. ;)

When October gets here and the deal is not done i will switch from Uverse. I do not want too, I especially don't want to mess with a new e mail address. But when push comes to shove i will not spend another year explaining to my wife why I am dragging the laptop into the living room AGAIN and why the picture sucks and we can't record it to view later easily.

This would make an awesome season, AMAZING! I missed your highlight videos this past season. What else am I going to use to fill up my 2 TB external drive?

I have Xfinity, so this deal doesn't really bother me. I am sure it would be a different story if ATT had it's own sportsnet. I'd be raising hell
